Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

You'll probably be best off looking at the Dismantlers or Ebay for as good used unit - these things go for around $1,100 - $1,200 new

Ill check with that Sierra Madre site but if anyone has a source for this unit pictured below, that would be great.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have inquired with a couple oem replacement vendors but not getting anywhere. Is there an aftermarket internal lens replacement option on the market?
Update to this.
I tore into the setup this evening and see that its not just the lens cover. Its the whole adjustment assembly that needs to be replaced. Ill check with that Sierra Madre site but if anyone has a source for this unit pictured below, that would be great.
Wow! That's crazy. Did someone put the wrong/overpowered bulbs in there? You'll probably be best off looking at the Dismantlers or Ebay for as good used unit - these things go for around $1,100 - $1,200 new
Either wrong bulbs or whale blubber candles. And yes, I tried just wiping off the doodoo brown but alas, its permanent.
I have already picked up a couple salvage headlamp assemblies and swapped them in. These are just sitting on the shelf and I would like to refurb them to put back on the market for someone else in the same situation. I have sent emails to couple popular Porsche parts vendors. See what they come back with.
Looking closer, I don't need the whole assembly. Just the lens for the assembly. There are 3 plastic tabs that allow you to remove it. The SMC link above has a half lens. Hopefully there is a full cover on the market. Will be an easier and cheaper fix than expected

I'm not endorsing, but I like that conversion and thinking of doing it on my '99. (Credit for photo - @996retrofits on facebook)
Talking with the 996 Retrofits now. He has many parts from torn down Halogen's. So, found a used source at least. He is working on a drop in HID product for these. It will be a nice, less costly update for the units on the car.
