Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I needed to check for a slight coolant leak and the only way was to check the water pump free play and bearing wobble (nothing) with the serpentine belt removed.
Leading evidence: 'sai related' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'sai related' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check slight coolant leak and the only way was' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Nothing registered at the station but he knew I had disconnected the battery.
If you do disconnect the battery to get rid of the CEL, don't forget to recalibrate the throttle body, otherwise the engine will feel a little rough until the DME relearns.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

To recalibrate, reconnect the battery, turn on the ignition (do not start engine) for +/- 1 minute, switch off ignition for +/- 15 seconds and then start the car.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My engine CEL came on today. I stopped at Auto Zone for help and they came up with 2 codes. P0112. IAT SENSOR..... and P0102.... Can anyone tell me what they are and where to look and if these are DIY able? The guy in the shop didn't really know much as he hadn't seen the 911 before. .... thanks.. Photos would be a great help.
I got the the P0102 the other day too
here's a thread I just started with the Porsche ODB response to the code(s)
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ce-please.html
But I'm going to do as Kalashnikov says, clean the AFM sensor and see if it returns. Picked up Torx security bits today.
P0102
Let me say at this point.. The day previously I had to take the air intake off the car by disconnecting the MAF sensor plug and removing the large black plastic air way where the air filter is enclosed. I needed to check for a slight coolant leak and the only way was to check the water pump free play and bearing wobble (nothing) with the serpentine belt removed. After replacing the belt, I started the engine when the air Intake was on the floor. It was ticking over about 800rpms during this procedure and the throttle air disc was slightly opened. It ran for about 5 minutes tops. My question here is , would the fact that the MAF sensor was disconnected bring on the CEL. The guy at the shop did not re set the codes. Maybe I only need to go back to him and have him do this. Then run the car again and see does the CEL come back on the dash. What do you all think?
The Intake air temp sensor is integrated within the MAF sensor. Maybe the MAF connection is loose as it's unlikely both the flow sensor and the temp sensor go bad at the same time.
AHSAI that's what I wanted to hear. Thanks so much I will call back in the morning and have someone clear the codes for me and drive away. It just had to be something I had done. PORSCHE do not fail. We do haha.
Don't feel bad. One time after I had warranty work done at the dealer, the CEL came on when I got home. Read the code and it was the SAI related. Popped the engine lid, sure enough the SAI pump was left disconnected. Reconnected it, reset the CEL and it's all good.
I did that one time with a dodge van to get it through the road test but guess what? Nothing registered at the station but he knew I had disconnected the battery. People must do that and get caught as I did. haha..
Hurdi....
If you do disconnect the battery to get rid of the CEL, don't forget to recalibrate the throttle body, otherwise the engine will feel a little rough until the DME relearns. This learning usually takes 2-3 complete heat cycles.
