Do the tubes have to be pulled to change the plugs?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I will be replacing my stock mufflers with the fabspeeds this weekend. My car has just over 14k miles, but it was manufactured in 03/2002. Should I replace the plugs while the mufflers are off since I've read it's much easier to do the plug change this way? Or just not worry about the plugs since they have only 14k miles?
I personally wouldn't at 14k miles unless you have a reason to think they should be replaced, though if you're doing the plugs you may as well do the connectors also.
The plugs are 7 years old, Replace them while you can, they are cheap and easily done with the mufflers off. Why not? You may not need connectors but if you can afford them as well Why Not?
Not a bad idea while you've got the wheels off too, you'll have plenty of room.
The Fabspeeds are also considerably more compact than the stock cans, and a lot lighter!
Not sure if you already have tips installed, or reusing your existing ones you can polish them up while they're off.
Where the car is almost silent now, you're going to a great sport exhaust..... have fun!
What about the o-rings on the tubes? Should they be replaced? Do the tubes have to be pulled to change the plugs? Some have said the tubes are hard to extract without breaking them.
On 2002 and newer 996s, Porsche switched to different tubes. You don't replaced the tubes on these cars The o-rings you can replace but they can only be replaced if you remove the valve covers.
No need to replace any o-rings if you don't have any oil on any of the plugs.
Check the coils for cracks and wear.
Ok, it sounds like I just need the plugs then. Time find a good vendor to get them. Suncoast seems to have decent pricing. Where do you guys get your plugs?
