Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Reset cluster' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Reset cluster' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

There may be other choices as well, my aftermarket wheels use a HUF RDV027 TPMS-compatible valve stem.

Looks like the one guy got special stems from Orange, but that's using their entire aftermarket system, which has a separate display that I don't want to need to install somewhere, especially since my car has TPMS capability.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've got a set of Sport Techno Wheels (pictured below). These came on some 996
s, but as you see I've got them on my 997. Not sure if the 993s have TPMS, but the metal valve stems for these wheels are apparently quite special, as in might be unique to this wheel. The stems that I ordered from Pelican can't mate to the 997 TPMS sensor without some serious jerryrigging, and I'd really like to avoid that. I've done a ton of online searches, including here obviously, and I'm not seeing an obvious answer. Wondering if anyone has encountered this, and/or or has any ideas. One idea is to just not use TPMS anymore lol. But I'd like to maintain that functionality if possible. Thanks!
I would assume any tpms for a "hollow" porsche wheel will work. Look for ones from a hollow turbo twist? The hollows do have special valve stems so this is the issue u r having.

2 sec google search
.
Maybe u can match the tpms stem to the length of the valve stem?
Thanks. I am aware of how to search the internet! And have been doing so without success.
These are both just the valve stem. I have those and there's no way to mate them to a TPMS sensor. The bottom is not threaded, and the stem is too wide to fit through the hole in the sensor anyway.
Looks like the one guy got special stems from Orange, but that's using their entire aftermarket system, which has a separate display that I don't want to need to install somewhere, especially since my car has TPMS capability. Also the length isn't the problem. It's the width of the stem / opening in the wheel that's too small for normal stems.
The search continues. Maybe I'll use Google again.
i guess i took your comment too litteraly? U asked for special stems for hollow spokes. I guess u meant tpms sendors with special stems for hollow spokes? Maybe they just dont exist?
996 do not have TPMS
I would go to a tire shop and see if they have a sensor that fits in the wheel and pairs with your TPMS system. They love to sell those sensors so they will be motivated to find a solution for you, if there is one.
There may be other choices as well, my aftermarket wheels use a HUF RDV027 TPMS-compatible valve stem. That company makes a lot of different valve stems so you might measure what you need and see if they offer one.
1)10 min to disable TPMS sensors on 997s... Unplug the module, and code it out and reset cluster.
OR
2) TPMS straps - common on Ford and Honda for TPMS to be mounted this way. Allows you to use standard valves.
https://www.tpmsdirect.com/TPMS_Strap_Kit_p/8304-01.htm
3) get a small wheel w/ tire or sealed tube - throw all sensors in - pressurize to 40psi and all is well
Interesting idea about the sealed tube! Definitely didn't think of that. Tried the straps and they came loose pretty quickly (the sender came loose from the strap). Currently attempting to drill out and tap the bottom of the the existing stems to see if we can attach the sender that way. We shall see...
