Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

why does the rain effect the running of my car. is the air box system that sensitive that drop of rain can cause a miss fire. 🤔 . this should not happen. lf l can't take my car out in the rain l may have to sell it this is ridiculous. does any 996 owners have the same problem.

POST 2Original post

Are your coil heat shields in place? without them the wheels throw water on them..

POST 3Original post

The 996 is an all weather car, IF , you keep your drains clear and replace plugs and coil packs with new. 20 year old coil packs are cracked and need to be replaced. If you are getting misfires, what CEL codes is it throwing?

^^^ this. Here is one of my coil packs after 20 years. I'm lucky to live in near desert conditions or I would've had the same problem. All of my coils had similar cracks. Good luck!

POST 6Original post

I drive in the rain (tropical downpours) all the time and have never had a hick-up. You have some work to do

POST 7Original post

More than likely a cracked coil pack or loose spark plug. Breathe easily and make plans to change them out. You Tube
