Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace oil once, only' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill so it must be decent' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
I was going to say something about the oil filter and not the oil because you know, Ferrari uses that oil as a factory fill so it must be decent.

Suggestion
Why mess around with Pennzoil when this is the factory recommended oil?

Suggestion
I've used m1 oil and hengst filter since I bough my car - 5k/12 month changes with good uoa each time - cheap at Walmart, but some consumption and weepage- thinking of getting motul from Amazon next time to see if that really makes any difference (to my oil consumption).

Suggestion
The penzoil is approved - but I would be more concerned about the fram filter ...if you are going to use a spin on is pay extra for one with better construction like (don't laugh) a mobil 1 !!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Time for oil changes for all the cars. Autozone and Advance auto both have 5 quarts of Pennzoil ultimate euro 5w40 with a fram filter for 32.99. Sound cheap? Well you also get a 10-15$ mail in rebate. I got 10 quarts and 2 filters for $46. I do have the spin on oil filter adapter so I could find a fram filter that fits. Oil change with a spare filter and extra quart.
For those of you who say wow, that's a good deal thanks for the info - you are welcome
For those of you who are going to say my car is going to implode and its cheap oil and oil is not the place to save money, I am just going to add preemptive - bite me.
Never heard of the Pennzoil euro. sounds like a nice score tho. 10 QTS is enough to do the Porsche. or are you doing other cars?
Wish I could find a deal like that when it comes time for my Super Duty oil change. 16 Qts is a bunch.
It's a40, BMW ll01, and vw50200 approved. I have to do an Audi Q7, BMW 535, and the Porsche. The problem is there is a 10qt limit per household for the rebate. So I'm sending my college kids to get some more and they can use their apartment for the rebate. Also fram doesn't make filters for those cars so I am getting filters for the other cars.
That's what I was thinking! I pay $26 for 5 quarts of mobile 1 0W-40 no rebate necessary. Why mess around with Pennzoil when this is the factory recommended oil?
Better yet, avoid going to Walmart altogether. Go to their website, lookup Mobil 1 0W-40 (or whatever you prefer), print off their ~$26 for 5 quart bottle deal, and find the AutoZone that will price-match it. I'm gathering not all AZ's will do the match with their price, but I've got one near me that does.
Saves me from having to set foot in a Walmart. (Could probably just order for delivery from their site, but then I have to wait, and I'm impatient)
Not as good a price as OP's deal, but if you're a fan of M1, it's a pretty good price.
Holy crap. I did not see Walmart listed as a participating retailer. But still. That's cheap. It's good until 10/31.
I am going to have enough euro motor oil to last years.

I'm not sure the castrol or penzoil at Walmart is significantly different under normal use to m1 ....
I actually spent some time researching oil filters and have a real response to this question.
First - the full flow oil filter without bypass is kind of a false claim for the spin on adapter with the NAPA gold filter. The OEM filter has a bypass, and the NAPA gold has a bypass. The OEM filter bypass is at the bottom so on cold start when the filter is bypassed the oil comes from the bottom of the filter cartridge. The NAPA filter has the bypass at the top of the filter so on cold start when the filter is bypassed oil if pulled from the top of the filter and oil returning to the engine. In both cases the filter is by passed.
The M1 filter bypass id just like the NAPA gold bypass and is at the top of the cartridge. The FRAM ultra bypass is at the bottom similar to the OEM set up.
As far as filter media and filter construction the fram filter that was included in the deal is the "ultra" which has similar - if not better construction and materials - to the Napa and M1 filter. It.s not the $4 Fram filter.
Whether the bypass at the top or bottom of the filter makes a difference is a topic for another thread.
Fram is crap IMO. I was going to buy for my other Japanese car and with the amount of rubber on top and bottom there was literally at least 20% less filtration surface. Plus the genuine in that case was 20% cheaper.
Not to turn my thread into an oil filter thread, but at least it is buried here.
So I did the research. Wow. you see people say mobil 1 causes engines to explode, but there are no real documented cases I have seen where the oil is to blame. But with the fram filters I found mulitple cases of engines blowing from oil starvation that were blamed on the card board ends of the fram filters disintegrated and clogging things.
The good news in the fram ultra have metal end caps so that should avoid the problem.
