Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm replacing the door latch today (micro switch problems) and took the opportunity to inspect the speakers and put some sound dampening material on the door skin.
Leading evidence: 'Inspect speakers and put some sound dampening material' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Inspect speakers and put some sound dampening material' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
most modern amps have zero problem running 2 ohm stable in stereo which what he is most likely doing to get stereo imaging.

Suggestion
2 ohm mono different story, but most of the big names have zero problem running low impedance.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

While rolling down my passenger window it started making some metal to metal scratching sounds, so my rennlist search concluded it was time to replace my window regulator. I bought an aftermarket URO regulator and it was surprisingly very easy to install. The URO regulator bolted on with no issues.

While the door panel was off I decided to change out the old speakers. I bought some pioneer 5.25" speakers. They fit perfectly in the Nokia speaker enclosure. Easiest speaker swap I've ever done.

Nice job! How do the speakers sound? You do know that, the sends to those speakers are technically "subs" right (i.e. they're crossed over somewhere below the nominal response of the co-axials you replaced the originals with)? I'm curious to hear how the Pioneer co-ax's handle the low end, as the tweeters obviously aren't doing much if anything...
I have pioneer speakers all over the car. The door speakers were the last to be changed. I have a full sound system with a 4 channel amp and a mono amp powering an 8" sub. All the speakers are wired directly to the amp not the head unit.
I didnt know the door speakers were subs. My system sounds a lot better with the pioneer door speakers but since I am not running the stock amp I cant speak on sound difference vs Stock.
Your amp will probably be happier since you're not driving the ridiculously low impedance 2-ohm door subs any more. Some amps fry at impedance that low - guess you're running something decent that's 2-ohm stable.
My door speakers show a DC resistance of 1.5 Ohms and the cab sub 0.5 Ohms. This is why I have them wired in series and drive them through the sub channel of my JL Audio amp.
I'm replacing the door latch today (micro switch problems) and took the opportunity to inspect the speakers and put some sound dampening material on the door skin.

2 questions:
1. How do you guys know when the regulator is crapping out? Mine grinds a little and the window sits funny in it now (slaps the rear glass when shutting door).
2. Any good options for 5.25" 2 ohm subs to just plug and play?
When it comes to speakers nothing is plug and play especially if you have a cab! Having looked at the Bose sub in the pax footwell, it looks not as bad as I thought it would be but there's no plug and play to be had.
