Here's what I used for adding Bluetooth capability:
Leading evidence: 'Use adding bluetooth capability' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check spoiler' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Check the spoiler to see whether it's shimmed or not - you can add 4-degree or 8-degree shims to adjust how much downforce the blade produces.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

HI all!
I am excited to join this new community. I have been a long time vintage bmw owner. I currently have a 89 325is, 2000z3 and a mostly done widebody e9 s54 resto mod. I have had m3's e24, e28, mcoupe. My daily is an 2015 mini s
I have been close to buying a pcar for years and this one finally convinced me to take the plunge.
I will be picking the car up Saturday morning. I haven't been this excited since i bought a 2001 mcoupe on my 39th bday...
Car is owned by a friend and long time bmw club racer. He has been a great steward of the car and i will continue that...
2003 996 C2 Speed Yellow
gt3 Aero Kit
lightly optioned car, no PASM, comfort seats
Yellow belts and center console

RMS
IMS
clutch, flywheel
belts hoses tensioner water pump
AOS
coils
basically all the necessary maintenance.
Car is super clean and drives nothing like a 17 year old car. We only found like 3 rock chips on it. Front has an older clear bra but in good shape
Interior is near perfect with only minor drivers bolster wear.
I am looking forward to getting to know this car and doing some light mods.
on the list
clear front side markers
maybe spacers 15mm?
maybe lowering springs. I do not want to make this a track car (my e30 does that well), just want to bring it down a little. I want to keep the nice GT style ride
fister exhaust mod
full paint correction, car is clean but paint has the usual scratches from washing. I have a full setup for doing this mysefl and will do a ceramic coating
leather conditioning and a few small touchups on the drivers door and seat
Drive it
Drive it
and Drive it more
Great looking car! Have you had a chance to visit with the mechanic that did the recent work to be sure nothing else needs to be addressed, maybe a PPI?
No PASM! Just like a GT3. love it.
one thing I've learned, easier said than done, is to drive it as is before spending $$ on upgrades. Sounds like it's had the major maintenance done, so as you say drive, drive and drive some more. If all is well after a few or 5k miles, then start with your upgrades. That's a special car.
That looks like one clean example. Congratulations! Great Mod list.

I spoke with the shop that did the work yesterday. I have had work done there in the past and they have a good rep here in Atlanta. The shop confirmed that while in everything that needed to be addressed was done. There was no further recommendation for work. This was all done 2k miles ago. I would be more concerned if i didn't know the owner and shop. The car run very smooth, no soot on the tail pipes etc, great power. Other than a boroscope there is not much else to do.
at least these cars do not leak like bmws...
I agree with the sentiment to drive it for awhile before mods. Other than the side markers and detail, i will not be doing anything until later this year. I need to sell 2 other cars and focus on that for now. The timing of this purchase was not optimal for me but i couldn't pass it up.

Looks like you got a very nice example of a well taken care of Carrera with the appropriate aero kit. Hope you enjoy it and good luck with the sell. This is a good community here on RL and they'll help you if problems should arise.
Check the spoiler to see whether it's shimmed or not - you can add 4-degree or 8-degree shims to adjust how much downforce the blade produces. I bought my 8-degree shims from Suncoast...

Beautiful 996!
The car is gorgeous! Congratulations! Welcome to the addiction! You should join Porsche Club of America. Its one of the best thing about owning a P-Car, besides the driving experience.
Thanks for all the compliments! i have the check in hand and going in the morning to pick up the car. I am not sure i will sleep much tonight.
I am actually putting the z3m up for sale. I may post on BAT, need to get all the pics this weekend. I would love to keep them both but honestly i don't have the space for them all. If you know anyone looking for a super clean silver on blue z3m roady 50k miles, registered DINAN car, let me know. I had thought to keep them both but i would rather focus on the new car. I have my mini up for sale as well. I guess which ever one sells first i may keep the other. My e30 will never be sold though...
I love all of the welcome to the madness posts. yes this feels like a whole new road for me.
I will def check out the shims. One thing on the rear wing. I know that the deck lid is fiberglass. However i can see though the upper vents and see the interior of the deck lid. Is there a piece that belongs on top of the 2 openings for the air intake? I think i saw something like that on the GT3 listed on BAT. I was just surprised to see the raw fiberglass interior.
Great looking car! I think Speed yellow may be creeping past Guards Red as my favorite color.
I'd love to see pics of the e9.
I also have the vintage BMW affliction, a e28 M5 and a gray market e30.
Also, I can tell you from personal experience that Speed Yellow adds 20-30 horsepower.
First day impression with the car
picked up and drove home about 30 miles.
Drove a bunch of my friends around intown atlanta.
this thing is ****.
So much power when you really get on it
so much visibility. Inspires confidence, so easy to drive
compared to my 2001 s54 mcoupe, better usable power, better visibility.
a few things i need to get to know and a few things that will need attention (minor)
1. drivers window make a thunk when lowered fully, passenger doesn't. missing bushing in track? minor
2. rear wing is slightly loose, need to tighten, the bolt covers are glued on somehow, need to gently pry loose, minor
3. insulation from hvac vents coming out, on dash and a few larger peices. I had the same issue on my 2001 mcoupe. It annoying as it gets all over the car. No way i am going to remove dash to fix. minor
4. car is too sexy
5. radio stations not coming in clearly on factory radio.. yeah who needs that anyway. will probalby want a bluetooth reciever at somepoint but want something that looks factory. I have kenwoods in all my other vintage stuff but looking for suggestions for single din options
6. car is too sexy
7. blinkers are too quiet
8. need to remove old clear bra from mirrors, will be done tomorrow. I will rear clear later
9. full paint correction will be done late feb
10. eventually i will want to refinish some of the door rocker plastics. the usual coating issues.
11. start up seems sluggish, PO said this is normal. it starts it has a cadences that is not familiar to me. Wasnt sure if battery or jus how these cars are. This is literally the first i have driven\started.
Socal911t
ill post some e9 pics. its not much, just a widebody inka s54 powered resto mod... that i need to finish and sell
i love the welcome and look forward to your advice!

You can get to the flap that sheds the foam through the wiper cowl. It requires you to dremel a small piece of plastic off but its relatively straight forward and on my list to do. Winter has just been so mild this year it wasn't worth the effort right now.
Thanks, i found a few diys on that as well. I got a bunch of big chunks out of the system today. Used the shop vac with the fan on full. hopefully i got most of it, mostly i dont want crud all over the interior.
Welcome to the club. Bought my SY 2003 c2 in May 2019 and am loving it. Also a classic BMW fan. This 911 is a fantastic car. ENJOY! Was your E9 at the Vintage last year? Saw one there that was very cool
Congrats, looks great!
Just a random question regarding the paint correction and ceramic coating you're planning. You mentioned a clear bra was already on the car. How does one do that with the clear bra installed? Will you remove it entirely?
The visibility thing is an underappreciated design win on these cars. Unlike the wife's SUV, I don't have to look past gigantic A pillars going around a turn.
Here's what I used for adding Bluetooth capability:

Clean, easy install and I didn't lose any of the functionality (like the CD player) of the stock radio.
Good luck! Nice car.
As stated in other thread, congratulations
Your car looks fantastic.
There is just something about the 996 Aero or 996 GT3 that make the side profile iconic.
In the coming months you will only enjoy your car more and more.
Six years in, the profile never gets old.
Thanks! checking out the bluetooth boxes. Mine has some soft of aux port installed. it switches over when plugged in. not sure how it is installed...
Yes, my e9 was at vintage, the inca widebody. Trying to get it sorted and up for sale spring\summer
