Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I did 99 into 2000, Kris helped me out and it worked out perfectly.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is it possible to swap a 2000 motor into a 99 c2 if I also swap the throttle bodies out? I would keep the cable unit from the '99 C2.... Thanks

POST 3Original post

Also swap engine wiring harness, then Good-to-Go !!

POST 4Original post

I did this on my car. It is totally possible and easy. You will need to do 2 or 3 things. I had to do all three on mine. 1. Swap throttle bodies (make sure you put the little black holder that the cable goes in correctly). Otherwise it will rev at 4000 RPM at first start up and scare the crap out of you. Ask me how I know. 2. As PT3 said, you need to swap the wiring harness, since the wiring the the throttle body is different. I found the easiest way to do this was remove from the 99, loosely line up the harnesses, and do one plug at a time. NOTE: If you have a manual transmission car, you will have a mystery plug left over. It is back near the AOS. I think it is something used for the Auto transmission. 3. Depending on what AC Compressor your car had, and the new car had, you may need to saw the fuel lines. My 2000 donor car had an AC compressor that the fuel lines went through, where my 99 did not. Not sure what cars have this. Other than that, the rest is the same. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions.

Jake has mentioned it was a 2000 only thing, but I think that's referring the engine year (denoted by a Y in the engine stamping). My MY2001 (January build) has the chilled fuel lines and the Y date code.
