Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Add the sound of the howling PSE bouncing off the concrete and it makes me wish I would have succumbed to the desire for another Porsche 30 years earlier, instead of dropping a check on a therapists desk.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Call it a useless post or just another excuse to tell everyone how great the 996 is but here what made my day again tonight... It's Friday night which at my house means movie night for the kids. Wife home doing her things, kids watching a movie and being quiet for once (i.e. not fighting)... What should I do? I'll tell her that I'll be back soon... "Where are you going?" Car always feels faster when it's dark. Somehow everything becomes more live and exciting. She looks better too out in the drive way that way. Headlights on with a little street light glow from a distance. I walk barefoot around the car enjoying her while the engine idles for a few minutes. She's ready for my little spirited Friday night drive. And, btw, driving barefoot is my absolute favorite. The connection you feel with the pedals is amazing! I do couple of spirited pulls on the nearby twisty roads and head for my favorite freeway on-ramp. It's a long downhill toward the onramp. I'm in 3rd gear, 4500-5000 rpm. WOT and hard acceleration. These long hard 3rd gear pulls are my ABSOLUTE favorites... Great engine and exhaust sound... 5 mins later I'm back home feeling absolutely amazing and can't help but think how much joy and value these cars provide for such a great price!! That's all I had. Thanks for reading. Peace

POST 4Original post

Awesome post....exactly how I feel when I'm out in her.....

POST 5Original post

Excellent. I also enjoy cruising the city streets at night in the rain...and then finding the freeway on ramp and letting it just run and run.

Hi Gent's, been looking at a really nice 996 to share my stable with the 87 928. I do the same thing here in Houston. We have the Beltway 8 which circles the entire city ( close to 80 miles). I get the bug around 2 in the morning on a Friday or Saturday, tell my wife I'll be back in an hour, and "do the circle". Like ejs1, there is no greater feeling than poking some holes in the air at night on a virtually empty highway. There are a few long straights that allow you to see several miles ( cop patrol) which if clear, lets the speedo go southeast of 100. Juice the mp3 player and enjoy the serine cocoon that envelopes you as the road markers blur by. Sometimes I slow down just to have a little longer time behind the wheel. Some of the old Ian Hammer stuff from M vice really sets the mood.... Marine928

POST 9Original post

For me its Friday morning before sun up. Friday is the first day of our weekend and the roads are deserted; I will often drive about 150 miles just for kicks and still get home before the missus wakes up!

POST 10Original post

I'm also a socal native and lucky enough to have GMR pretty much in my backyard. After a restless Monday-Friday work week working for the man. A simple journey up the canyons resets me enough to hit another week thanks for sharing I'm sure we all can relate!

POST 11Original post

Your story is what answers the question of "why a Porsche?- a car is a car". Add the sound of the howling PSE bouncing off the concrete and it makes me wish I would have succumbed to the desire for another Porsche 30 years earlier, instead of dropping a check on a therapists desk. A solid ride is all the therapy I ever need. The late night runs in the C4S had my wife coin the phrase "going out on a date with the mistress in midnight blue". Thanks for sharing

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the positive comments! Sometimes I feel guilty about my special relationship with her. We only go back a few months but I can already tell that my 997.2 is jealous

POST 13Original post

Very nice post, I can sure relate, just the other night (late night) my girlfriend calls and asked me to please come over, I was already in bed.... lol I immediately got semi dressed and took off. On the way to her house I came to a stop light, open Hwy to the left or twisties to the right....... All i could think was... RIGHT TURN CLYDE!!!! by the time I got to her house I was all pumped up!!!!!! So yes These cars are like a shot of adrenaline.

POST 14Original post

Very nice read. Thanks for sharing. I am a big fan of late night drives because the roads are nice and clear. Since I live by the beach its a very nice drive by the coast with the windows down and sunroof open.
