I checked both dip sticks and dropped some on a rag and they looked a lot a like.

This morning I found clean clear oil (about a 6 inch puddle).

Suggestion
If it never leaked before they changed the fluids its almost 100% that its something they did and not some new problem.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My 1998 996 (Euro version) has 35K miles. Took it to the dealer for service (fluids, filters and shocks). Drove it for two days, hassle free. This morning I found clean clear oil (about a 6 inch puddle). Checked the oil level , all was good. Drove around town today and no more leak!!! IMS? RMS? I'm scared, please help.
If it was me I would park it and see if it gets another leak tonight. If it does then I would jack it up and find where its coming from before driving it again.
Take it back to dealer that did service - have them put it on lift and look for source of leak. If you have pic of puddle of oil even better. If there was so much oil- there should be visible stain somewhere ...maybe they forgot drain plug washer - or put filter o-ring on incorrectly ?
Thought about the oil filter o-ring. As I said the oil is crystal clear. Going back tomorrow and have it checked…. hope it's nothing serious. Cold oil level is all the way up.
It only takes a couple tablespoons of oil to make a 6" puddle, so you would have to be losing more than that for it to show up on your dipstick.
I agree that you should take it back to the shop who did the work, explain what you found and have them verify that the drain plug is tight and that there is a new crush/sealing washer under it, and that the oil filter canister O-ring is intact and in the right place (not balled up or displaced).
They will likely have to remove the canister to verify this which will lose the amount of oil that the canister holds (and could be reused if they so desire).
Thanks guys! One last question, how can you tell between hydraulic fluid and synthetic oil? I checked both dip sticks and dropped some on a rag and they looked a lot a like. The puddle was kinda orange like in color.
Orange could be coolant. Depending upon which type you have, the Porsche coolant can be orange, green, or kinda yellow.
Coolant should have a coolant odor though, whereas oil doesn't (unless it's used), and usually hydraulic fluid doesn't have much of an odor either.
Edit:
Coolant would also be very thin (watery), hydraulic oil a bit thicker, and oil thicker yet.
