I disconnected the battery and commenced to removing regulator and had to reconnect the battery to move the regulator some to get to things, this of course was after I removed the airbag in the door.

If you turn on the ignition with air bag disconnected then the airbag light will go on, and stay on.

My understanding is the airbag light will stay ON even after you reconnect the airbag until it's being reset by a scanner such as Durametric.

I watched a video for the boxster and it didnt have this issue due to no air bag... Any thoughts would be great appreciated. 2003 996 C2

It all depends - when you are done and everything is reconnected, if the airbag light is on then yes, you will need Durametric or Porsche System Tester to reset the airbag light. If it is not on, then you are good to go.

Thanks to all for the advice. It looks like I am going to be trying to find a way to reset this code when I get things back together New reg should be here in a few days so hopefully we will see by the weekend. The reason I had to disconnect it was to move the foam paneling that was under it so I could get to the reg. I didnt think about the light until I turned the key after to move the window a bit.

As long as you dont reconnect the battery and try to move the regulator (i.e. turn the key on) 1/2 through the process you are correct and all will be well i think. Me on the other hand, did the opposite.
