Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had my transmission changed when I first got my 996 C2 4 years and 30000 miles ago. My question is. When a reconditioned transmission is installed, Would the exchanged transmission have a new transmission mount or would it come with the existing mount? Any thoughts on this question would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

If it wasn't specified I would assume it's the same mount. If your mount was in good condition I doubt they would swap it for you (at least without charging you for it).

POST 3Original post

The transmission mount bushing is pressed into the trans housing; it's not a separate unit. So you got whatever was already in the reconditioned transmission. The question is really whether the reconditioned trans had a new bushing, or the original one. Chances are it's the original, since reconditioning the transmission focuses on the internals, and unless the mount was torn, it probably remained original. I've attached a picture of the 996 Carrera transmission mount bushing:
