Super proud of him though I did feel he should have set his sights lower.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

31 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After saving up for 2.5 years from his after school job, my son bought his first Porsche....a beautiful white 2002 4S. Super proud of him though I did feel he should have set his sights lower. We have already replaced it with the IMS which was a single row and was starting to fail. Also new brakes and rotors. Drives like new.

POST 2Original post

Very nice! My favorite standard color! I'm an amber fender turn signal guy though. Lol Mileage and price if you're open to sharing? Curious what the C4S market is doing.

POST 3Original post

White 4s, I say he did very well. Congrats to your son!

POST 4Original post

What options? Sports exhaust? Awesome looking specimen. Best of luck to your son, his life is forever happier.

POST 6Original post

That car looks great. You don’t see a white C4S very often.

POST 7Original post

Really love that lift, would love to have one of those, life would be so much easier! Oh, by the way, nice car, they look really good in white!

POST 8Original post

If you have a 4s you must post the rear-end money shot! Especially in white

POST 9Original post

Awesome, congrats to him! Very cool that he has you to help him work on it.

POST 11Original post

Wow, beautiful C4s! Love that youre passing on the passion to a new generation that seems far less into cars!

POST 14Original post

Beautiful - glad you (hopefully) caught that nasty bearing before it could shed anything.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

^ yep...we think we caught the bering in time since the seals are still good....per requests...the car has 70K miles...bought the car privately before it was listed for a fair price without IMS upgrade and other needed fixes. Here is the rear shot...it is really beautiful from behind. My son and I both agree that it is much nicer than the newer 911s. The new ones are too big and wide....the 996 C4S is just right.

POST 16Original post

So nice to hear that your son worked hard and saved for it. Well done in the Dad department. Post a picture of both of your cars together if you can.

POST 17Original post

wow! White looks amazing on a 4s! lower it and put wheel spacers on! haha enjoy!

POST 18Original post

Beautiful car. Congratulations to your son! That is a gem! #proudDaddymoment

POST 20Original post

CONGRATS: That is so cool. Like father, like son. It's only the beginning, lol. There are a lot of beautiful 911's out there, but white is my favorite. See ya somewhere in Seattle for sure

POST 22Original post

Great job teaching your son that work and effort pay off. Congratulations to both of you.

We were just talking about spacers last night....what is the recommended spacers sizes? Is there a thread that discusses for C4S? My thinking was that I have an extra set of 5 mm for front and 7 mm for rear that we were going to try. My son wants to also lower though I am not sure about that for clearance purposes.

POST 24Original post

Looks like a great find! Now you won't have to hide your keys any more, but he's going to have to

You can't even imagine how true this is....

POST 26Original post

Sons got good taste! White is my favorite color on a 911

I'm not sure on the spacer size unfortunately. When I bought my car, they were already installed. There is currently one for sale on BaT that supposedly has 7mm front and 14mm rear. I think Pelican sells them. They might know. I'm usually not a huge fan of lowered cars, but it seems to really work on the 4s. Looks very tasteful in my opinion. I've got H&Rs. I've heard people say that the ride might be a bit harsher. I don't think it's harsh. I'm sure your son wouldn't mind the ride as well. I haven't had any issues with ground clearance yet, but I also don't DD it.

So you're going to make hurting my feelings with these beautiful cars a whole family affair, huh!? . Seriously, though, big congrats to you & son. As a new father I cannot wait to share moments like these with my little guy.

I have 15mm spacers front and rear on my 4S (stock wheels, H&R springs). The rears are fine, but the fronts rub at opposite lock in a parking lot.

It's a great thing for sure...we have a lot of fun. We ended up with 5mm in front and 7mm in the rear...looks perfect....can't imagine any bigger.
