Suggestion

You may also need the fender liner, mine had some of the slots blown out there it attaches so the new one would not stay in place until I replaced the liner too.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, I'm not sure what to call those rubber/plastic shields in front of the left and right wheels. I noticed the left side was broken, presumably I must have struck a high curb stop when parking. Can Rennlisters inform about the correct name for these parts and whether it's a DIY, indy or dealer service? TYVM! /X3

POST 2Original post

What year and model is your 996? They were changes a few times over the years by Porsche but the parts catalog was not really updated completely. They were also different on wide body vs narrow body cars. I went through this on my 2003 Carrera I think I ordered 3 different ones before finding the correct one. You may also need the fender liner, mine had some of the slots blown out there it attaches so the new one would not stay in place until I replaced the liner too. you really need to remove the fender liner to install them...you can do it with the liner attached but the inner tabs are very difficult to get seated. If you have a 996.2 narrow body car I can lookup what I ordered and post the part numbers.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2004 Carrera Cab. Thanks for your response! /X3

POST 4Original post

For 996.2 narrow body cars (2002-2004): "Rubber Molding in Wheel Housing" - This is the flap that hangs down below the front of the front wheels attached to the fender liner. Left 996-504-504-03 Right 996-504-503-03 "Front bumper lower trim" - This is the triangular flap that is right behind the one above and attaches to the bottom front of the wheel arch liner, I think it's purpose is to keep road spray out of the radiators. Left 996-505-526-01 Right 996-505-525-01

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It was definitely the wheel arch air duct 996-504-603-03. /X3
