G'day all. Aussie in Florida here, with my first 911. VERY happy. Love the car. Drives like a dream. ONE small issue, that to be honest is driving me nuts. The seat seems to be stuck high. The dealer I got it from (Spanos Motors in Daytona Beach) showed me the lever to put it back down again but for some reason it doesn't seem to work. After sitting in my mates 996 that he bought after seeing mine, his is nice and low, compared to mine. I've searched threads before posting this, but haven't come up with anyone else with this prob. Any advice or help to help me fix it is much appreciated. Thanks, and apologies upfront if I did inadvertently miss a thread specifically on this. I'd love to get it down a bit. Just a bit.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Manual seat correct ? On my 99 I remember the spring being heavy and needing to hold the lever up, brace my feet squarely and push down with force on my legs to move the seat down. Also slide it forward, look under for loose objects etc. spray silicone on hinges to loosen up etc. Welcome and please post a pic of your new to you Porsche.
Also if you are local to Daytona Beach, Kennedy Motorsports is a fantastic Porsche only Independent shop.
Thanks! I'll try that in a bit. Much appreciated Seeu911 The only pic I have of it so far is taken by my girlfriend who sent it while following me home to Fort Lauderdale. She said I had a nice ****. I think she's talking about the car though. I have to remove the annoying dealer decal and licence plate this weekend as they're not paying me to promote them. And it takes away from the cars natural looks me thinks.
Yeah I'm not local to Daytona unfortunately, I'm down at Lauderdale By the Sea. First 911 for me. Very happy. This car in Australia still goes for between 40 and 60k. So grabbing one while I'm living over here is definitely the smarter and more economical move.
One more thing, its manual forward and back, but has electronics for recline.
Fixed! That worked. Touchy little bugger, but it worked. If you're reading this welcome to the shortest thread in this forum ever. Thanks so much Seeu911. Much appreciated mate. Beer's on me if you get down to Fort Lauderdale.
Awesome. The 99 has those unique yellow tail lenses. I loved them on mine. Some choose to update them to LED and that looks pretty good too.
Wow, talk about a small world. My girlfriend and I visited that dealer and looked at this car. Ralph
