Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So the wife and I took another short road trip last week. Impromptu decision as she was feeling and acting really good so we both said what the hell, where should we go. She picks Mystic Seaport. The drive there and back was not much fun except for a few things that happened along the way. We got stuck for over two hours as soon as we paid the toll on the GW bridge. It was really ugly and my patience had run out. A driver that I allowed to merge in front of me from the left (allowed - right - like I had a choice) ends up deciding to merge in front of me a few minutes later from the right. I had had more than enough, our windows were down so I started to holler at him to stop, but he wouldn't even make eye contact with me. So I hollered louder to f**king look at me but he just kept getting closer to the front fender of our C4S. So, with total loss of mental and emotional control, I threatened him. He still wouldn't look at me but he sat bolt upright and immediately stopped. My wife starts to laugh hysterically; I ask her to stop laughing which makes her laugh all the harder. I ask what could possibly be so funny given that we are pretty much stuck on the road with a bunch of demolition car drivers and she says it was what I said to that guy. I said I know, I know, I am sorry but I just lost it, I can't believe I said that. And she says, "no, it's not what you said that was so funny, what's funny is you said that and you don't even own a gun". After we finally get moving and things settle down I am talking all down in the mouth about "people" and how screwed up this world is and blah, blah, rant and rave and being a bitchaholic. The wife tells me that yes the people in the world can be really strange but there are still some good people, like the Jehovah Witness crew that stops by to check in on her health, she says that they are an example of really nice people - she loves to talk with them, she just wishes they wouldn't talk about Jesus. So since our return she loves to tell our friends about me being a maniac and threatening to take some poor guys life on the GW bridge and I love to tell them all about how nice my wife thinks Jehovah Witness people are but she really wishes they wouldn't talk about Jesus. And probably the best one for me. As we are driving she suddenly says I must be slipping because there is a spot on the *******. I was stunned and immediately started thinking "what? I didn't think she even remembered I had a ******* since her surgeries! Then I automatically look down at my crotch and she says "NO, not THAT *******, this *******" and she is pointing at the front of the shifter boot. That was a great shared laugh as we Porsche'd down the road. And she must really like the C4S - after we got home she heard me tell a neighbor that although being in Mystic was good, the driving was terrible and had I known it would have been such a bad drive I would haven taken the Olds the wife immediately spoke up and said no way, it's the Porsche that makes it so much fun. So - now she is talking Vermont - we shall see what the future holds. Happy Motoring - if you got one - drive it.

That is a great story. The ******* lines sealed it for me. WIN

Much more interesting than many of the reads here & you have a closer Porsche partner than you thought . Bob 01 C4 31 Ford cp chp & ch, 302/350 40 ******, 302/350, IFS 38 Ford cp, 327/350, IFS 57 Belair 62 356B --long ago

POST 4Original post

Glad it didn't escalate, you never know that idiot could have had a gun himself. Anytime I am about to lose it and start to go down the path of threatening, I back off and let them win. I realize I have too much to lose, including my P-cars, family, career etc. Losing everything over road rage is not worth it.

Thanks. The ******* line actually continued. When I told her it was called a boot she just said "oh, must be a guy thing" - handed me the opening - so I said "yeah, in my generation ******** were exclusively a guy thing". She laughs and says she KNOWS that but that thing doesn't look anything at all like a boot and if I asked any woman if she thought it looked more like a ******* or a boot they'd say *******. Put the window down and pretend I am calling out "hey lady, come over here and take a look at this". Lots of laughs, made it a good trip, good memories.

When in my F150, I usually will win the slow-merge contest. When in my Porsche, I always let the other guy win the slow merge... But good news that you got over the bridge one car in front of him!
