Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A couple of months ago I bought a new battery. Lately I've noticed that, even with the new battery, the car is a little sluggish to turn over. The volt gauge shows charging between 12-14 V. Any ideas? thanks, Grant

POST 2Original post

Are you driving it daily? And if not, are you using a trickle charger/maintainer?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm driving it daily. On the way home, I noticed that the voltmeter was a bit below 12. So it might be the alternator after all. It is between 12-14 right after starting though which seems strange...

POST 4Original post

Below 12 while driving? Yeah, get your alternator checked at your local Autozone or similar. Sounds like it's on its way out. Use a trickle charger if you have one until you get the alternator replaced. See the OM under 'Voltmeter'.

Might be alternator, or battery. Also, how old is your engine? And have you done any work to it lately? -td
