It is also possible that it was the covers making it feel narrow.

The previous owner did not keep a anally clean car, so I will see what a good detailing will do for the inside.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Good morning everyone!
I purchased a 2000 C4 Cabriolet 6 speed with 52k over the weekend. It is a dark red (I am sure someone can tell me the proper name) with a grey interior (not my favorite). The car had the IMS bearing updated and has a good service history.
As a result of a basketball hoop falling on the car in a freak windstorm, it also has a new top and some paint work on the hood and fender. The car also includes the optional hardtop. I paid 23k for the car.
It is very much a "stripper" with no heated seats (bummer), no litronic, standard interior and 17 inch wheels. I don't have the window sticker but I suspect it may not have any real options.
Prior owner installed a pioneer navigation double din headunit and it has a Rockford Fosgate amp in the frunk- so I need to investigate the install- but I did not love the aftermarket stuff in there.
Car is very clean although the interior shows more wear than I would have expected for the miles and year.
As you might notice (from my profile photo), I like the "red headed" 911's. My prior one was a 964 widebody.
These are just the craigslist pics, will get better ones up soon.
Very nice!
Bumperplugs.com to get the color-matched plugs so you can delete that front plate.
All of the option codes are listed on the sticker on the bottom of the frunk lid, if you're curious about what the car came equipped with...
Why do people post screenshots from their phone? Am I missing something - there seems to be a rash of this happening. If you can upload a screenshot, why not upload the actual picture?
Some folks don't know that they can download a picture and add it to the camera roll, I imagine.
Isn't it awesome that you can get a modern 911 - which for MANY people is a dream car - for $23K? I've said it before, and I believe it - the M96's reputation, as well as perceptions about cabin materials etc. have made many childhood dreams of owning a 911 into reality. So, whoever selected the IMSB way back when...thanks!
According to the Porsche site, the monthly payment for a 60-month loan on a bone-stock 911 Carrera 4 is $1,491, so OP picked up a beautiful 911 with just 52K miles for the equivalent of 16 months of payments on a new Carrera 4. Enjoy it!
It's totally awesome! Much like the 996- it is sandwiched between the last "true" 911 (the unobtanium 1989 G59) and the miracle working 993 that is the height of automotive accomplishment (sarcasm....).
The 3.6 in the 964 is essentially the same as the 993, but the early ones are well known to develop oil leaks that require a teardown to repair (sound anything like the 996 reputation?) and are generally the cheapest (and best buy) of the aircooled 911's. I loved mine.
I am not really sure on that. For now, I am going to concentrate on the mechanical and sound, but I may consider it. I know some say the gray grows on you.
The previous owner did not keep a anally clean car, so I will see what a good detailing will do for the inside. I also plan to accent the interior with some black bits (floormats, possibly a carbon shift **** and boot along with the e-brake) and may then get into door pulls and some dash carbon. I believe that would provide the needed contrast.
QQ for you all, the car currently has sheepskin seat covers, the seats appear to be the "standard" with minimal power and adjustability- but they seemed rather narrow thorough the mid back (the bolsters). Is there an adjustment I missed? It is also possible that it was the covers making it feel narrow. I am bigger than average but not huge- and I fit wonderfully in my 964 seats.
