Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For those who have, and or used windblocker, worthwhile accessory?

POST 2Original post

Has kept my pompadour in perfect position ...since 2004

POST 3Original post

My wife yells at me if I take it out...sooooooo.....

POST 5Original post

A must-have accessory. Especially when the weather is cooler.

POST 8Original post

Not particularly. I bought mine a few years after driving without one. The main reason was my wife was complaining about hair in the face with the top down. It certainly helped with that issue, but either leaving it in all the time (not practical) or when needed having to get it out, remembering how to unfold it without breaking it (mostly all plastic) and putting it away became too much of a hassle. It's been sitting in it's bag for over five years untouched. Hope that helps!

POST 9Original post

I leave mine in 99% of the time. The only time I remove it is if I have to carry something big in the back seat. I never have passengers back there. Having the rear seats folded down gives the added bonus of having shelves for carrying groceries back from the store.

POST 10Original post

I don't use mine because I would need to move the seat up and be uncomfortable driving. If it's cold out, I'll put on a beanie and gloves...

POST 11Original post

I have one but have no idea where it is. Somewhere in storage. Haven't really thought about it lately. With that said, I only drive in warm weather and am alone most of the time. Wife doesn't like the car that much.

POST 12Original post

It makes a big difference. I’d have never believed it. Deflector up and side windows up and it’s MUCH quieter and less blustery. I don’t know what is not practical about leaving it in all the time. I almost never take mine out. I just fold it down when top is up and flip it up if I have a passenger (I have short hair and don’t mind the wind) or its cool out. If I do take it out, it couldn’t be much easier, two quick release buttons, lift and fold. Fits tidily in frunk. One of the best investments I’ve made for my cab.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everyone for the feedback so far, much appreciated.

POST 14Original post

Being a smart Alec, are you talking about a hard top? That will block the wind too...lol I have both and I never use them. My hard top is in a bag against the wall. I tried using the wind blocker but it was like unfolding a transformer so I put it away.

POST 15Original post

I never use mine. I have 2 kids under 10, so thats why. And I like all that wind. I rarely like the windows up when the top is down.

POST 16Original post

When I bought my car last summer it came with one, albeit broken and so it got tossed out. Not that I'm opposed to replacing it (haven't looked at cost yet), but low on the list of things that I'd like to replace or work on.

Don't listen to the sarcastic naysayers. It's definitely an improvement if you're driving on a highway or at reasonable speed. It probably doesn't make much of a difference under 40 mph.

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 17412158

You don't have to flip it down with the top up, the deflector doesn't interfere.

POST 19Original post

Made the mistake of showing it to my wife = top stays up until wind stop goes on. It also keeps things stored in back from being liberated by the wind.

POST 20Original post

Just be careful about reclining the seat too much, they can get broken that way. But plastic epoxy will help with that repair. Otherwise, get one and use it, your wife will love you even more.

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 17412684

Understood, I just dont like looking through it when I dont need to.

POST 22Original post

Quotes source post: 17412158

I tried that, but wouldn't work for me as I couldn't get the seat far enough back for comfortable driving. At 6'4", I need all the leg space its got.
