Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Hi, I bought a brand new triptonic steering wheel. Will this fit on a manual? C2E6493C-9B46-4FFC-8FFC-6D7162BE5594_zpsahuqylw2.jpg Also, will 20' rub on my 996? they are made for Carrera 4 FCAF37AA-A788-482C-BDEB-8C36B68C1EA6_zpsh1godles.jpg

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

They will rub so I should avoid them?

POST 4Original post

If you like rubbing tires, buy them. If you don't like tires rubbing on your fenders, then skip. And why would you want a tip steering wheel on a manual car?

POST 5Original post

You can put 19' if you "roll the fenders". Search for that in YouTube, and you will see a lot of examples. I did it on my 2001 cab, and the tires don't rub. Only problem is that your rims are now more susceptible to curb rash.

Says who? It depends on the offsets and tires. There's a local guy here that's been running 20's on his 996 for the past few years without issues. Now whether you should be running 20's in the first place on a 996 is another story...

POST 8Original post

You do not necessarily need to roll your fenders to accommodate 19's - I have 19's on my '99 C4, and my fenders are intact.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everyone for the info. I just got the steering wheel from a friend who's dad passed away. This is why it's triptonic, and since I have the old one I considered changing it. am I better selling it and if so for how much? I also have brand new ; hand brake, triptonic shifter **** and the plate 430E45EC-9B42-42C8-8580-1FAF2E536D48_zpsugjl7ylx.jpg 7F46B84D-BC80-442A-96A2-7D6AC9B8A2B9_zpsynbgjjhk.jpg A44B0822-4046-411A-AC2B-757540202302_zpsk77rb4yt.jpg 3D153305-B0B8-4233-8142-F47CBC2EC693_zpsffltjbr7.jpg
