Suggestion

If you do replace the AOS with a UAOS, you will no longer need the coolant line from the old aAOS to the coolant tank.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What else should be done as part of the process? 2003 with 114,000 miles. Manual. $1,400 to do it. Thanks

POST 3Original post

Replace the Y-cable. And get a new o-ring for the TB to plenum.

POST 5Original post

My starter motor plays up every now and then... The replacement part is about $300... Is it really an additional $1k to install?

POST 6Original post

I've replaced my starter twice. First was a remanned Bosch. That blew out the bendix frame within a year and a half. Second was a brand new Bosch unit. Got it from Amazon. Going strong about 5 years in. I think it was around $300. If you are slightly mechanical it is not too bad of a job. +1 on the oil filler pipe. And get the Rausch metal fitting for the coolant line next to the alternator. Now that is worth it's weight in gold. Damn plastic fitting will bust if you look at it wrong.

POST 7Original post

If you do replace the AOS with a UAOS, you will no longer need the coolant line from the old aAOS to the coolant tank. The UAOS does not require the coolant line whose purpose is to keep the AOS warm enough to prevent condensation forming in the AOS
