Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am very sorry to do this however I am in great need of quick help. I posted this topic at renntech however I am also posting here because I need a quick response. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have been changing my AOS. Everything is going well except that I am having problems getting the vacuum hoses hooked up properly. My car is a 1999 C2. I have several hard plastic/rubber hoses however I cannot figure out where a few things are supposed to go. From the check valve (the one above the alternator)- I have two hoses coming out- one comes out of the check valve via a rubber elbow connector, the other tube is about 1.5 feet then it connects to a + rubber connecting piece. I cannot figure out where the hoses coming from the + rubber connector are supposed to connect too. The four points of the + rubber connector are as follows- 1.- tube going into the + connector from the check valve (the one above the alternator) 2.- One of the tubes coming off the + connector has a round white/black piece then a hard hose- I think that this connected to the front intake connector butterfly valve (I remember this from when I removed it 3.- one point on the + connector has no tube 4.- broken tube (appears to have been broken prior to my work due the dirt) I realize that two hoses are supposed to connect to two intake connector adapters (I already have the one on the righ side of the car connected as it comes from a different location) I am in desperate need of help. I have been searching for quite a long time and have not found any answers. I have also search my shop manuals and also didn't find any info. Thanks, Steve

POST 2Original post

I dont have a car in front of me, so Im going to wing it lets see how I do. The black and white piece is a 1 way valve. needs to be installed so the engine can suck through it. It goes in the bellows between the intake runner and the throttle body. Then it goes into a 4 way junction. One should be source vacum to the eletric valve over the alternator, one should be soruce vacum to the secondary air valve next to the shut off valve behind the alternator. The 3rd should go to the vaum canister nipple next to the shut off valve if your car has sport exhaust or is tip tronic you will have one more t in the line to provide vacum to the transmission heater valve

POST 4Original post

From the engine on my garage floor (also a '99 C2), the following pictures show the routing. The first pic shows the vacuum reservoir with the 4-way tee. The line running to the top of that pic goes to the valve at the front of the manifold (Item #3 in the diagram above), also shown with my finger on the rubber elbow in the second pic. The free stub line goes to the plenum, show being held against the plenum in the third pic. Let me know if you need more detailed pics and I'll be glad to take them.
