I was able to barely use my fingers to lift that third bolt so that when it touches that hose above it's only then high enough so that the compressor becomes loose.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm trying to move that AC compressor to the side so that I can drop the engine. Now that AC compressor is a major pain in my car. Both the right and the third on the back are relatively difficult (impossible) to remove completely because there are cables and hoses sitting in top of those. I got both front bolts and the third on the back loose but it still refuses to come out. It feels like something is holding that from the back so the question is does the third bolt have to come out completely or is it enough if it's like an inch up. I can't remove that completely because there's one of those hoses right on top of that - see the image. That right one is also under that weird plastic bracket but luckily it moves up enough so that the compressor becomes loose. ps. Removed that zip tie and tried to loose that bracket as well but that also seems to be impossible as it goes alongside that ac compressor so for example removing that bolt in the picture is not enough.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok, problem solved. There's no need to have that completely out but in my car those tolerances are tight. I was able to barely use my fingers to lift that third bolt so that when it touches that hose above it's only then high enough so that the compressor becomes loose. Some with that right bolt - in practice it has to touch that plastic bracket before the compressor is loose.
