Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The Continental sounds so much better than the Kenwood that was installed before.

As others have said, loving the legroom and clean look.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My car came with a Kenwood double din touchscreen. I dont need a nav system as I bought the car to get lost. And I really wanted clean up the lines in the cabin. I thought Id post some pictures of the process and results in case anyone else is doing the same.
Heres what the kenwood looked like before being pried out. Ill put this up in the marketplace if anyone wants it.
The previous owner had this cradle installed to house the kenwood, unfortunately the plastic stereo/hvac frame was cut to fit this. Good news is that the original wires were not cut, as adapters were used. A microphone was also nicely installed through by drilling a hole through an unused dash button. Ill keep that and use it with my new continental head unit.
Hvac ripped out and cubbies about to come out as well.
Have to shift into second to get the cubbies out. Was a pretty easy process getting everything out. Just need a set of torx (I think size 15) bits
Does anyone know what this could be for? Found it unplugged and just dangling there when I pulled out the hvac.
GT3 center console delete kit in! Took a little convincing. I think if I were to do it again I would have taken the center console off completely.
Heres where Im at now. Any ideas on how to fabricate a cradle to fit the stereo and hvac? May have to just order a new plastic frame from suncoast, though they are predictably outrageous (~$250).
Yes that unused plug is the factory phone prep cable. Believe it or not even as late as the late 90's/early 00's in some parts of the world people were still installing car phones.
Good progress! I really like the lower console delete in my car. The flat-bottom dash has a more classic appearance, IMHO.
Instead of buying that piece new, try one of the dismantlers. Should be able to get it for much less.
Congrats on the GT3 console install. I absolutely love mine, and was a huge improvement in comfort and looks for me.
That part you need is why eBay exists. I think this is what you are looking for:

Yeah, I had the same set up with the Kenwood Nav unit. Removed the unit and sourced an OEM CDR 220 radio and installed it with the console delete option. Much cleaner and a bit retro look plus more room for my right knee.

Yes, that loose connector was for a phone. It's a great source for switched and unswitched 12v power. My car had the factory mobile phone option.
the center 'pod-thing' is still possibly the ugliest interior component Porsche has ever installed, but your install and console delete looks about as good as you can ask for. very nice.
My last car with a permanently mounted cellular phone was my 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. The phone electronics were in the trunk, and were nearly as big as a suitcase. It had a little pigtail, curly antenna on the rear window.
