Awesome thanks - is there any way to check this and/or adjust without a trip to the dealer?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi group, I've noticed for some time that I have a hard start issue with my 2003 996 Targa. When fuel is low (amber light just on, so not that low), it will take fair amount of cranking to fire up. This is a non-issue when the tank is full. Seems to be slightly worse on an incline (but the incline amount is a few degrees at most). Fuel filter perhaps? I haven't had that checked in some time (two years, yikes). Thanks all! J.

POST 2Original post

May be fuel pump or fuel gauge needs to be calibrated, happened to me.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Awesome thanks - is there any way to check this and/or adjust without a trip to the dealer? J.

POST 4Original post

I've had this happen due to the inlet screen on the pump being grungy. Also if the pump isn't on the bottom of the tank and you get a hole in the pickup hose..
