I swore I'd never buy another one unless it was a Porsche - so far it's worth it; had a lovely drive over the mountains on the same road Porsche used for a Cayenne press junket recently

Can I replace the CD holders with something more practical?

Thinking of starting with rotors and pads if I can use cheap aftermarket parts.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just bought my first 911 in what was probably too rushed a decision (after a lifetime of rumination). It's a 2001 C4 and so far all the major stuff seems in order - low miles, IMS retrofit, RMS and clutch done, no plastic in the oil filter.
Here's what's on my list:
Next steps:
I assume I should change all the fluids since the car is new to me. Besides oil, is there a diff I need to check? I don't know anything about AWD on the 996. How does it split power, anyways?
Wheels:
I need new tires and am wondering if I should update the wheels at the same time for something larger (and lightweight, and affordable) than the 17 twists. Recommendations for wheels? Tire wise I'd probably get Michelin A/s 3 plus unless someone has a better recommendation for the wet.
Brakes:
Brake pedal feels firm but stopping power is lackluster and hard to read. Distance is too long. Thinking of starting with rotors and pads if I can use cheap aftermarket parts. Any complications to the job (eg gratuitous use of sensors and whatnot)? Parts recommendations?
Electrical:
Probably time for a new battery. Interstate from Costco or....? Is the battery under the trim next to the frunk?
I have a Becker CDR 220. Is this still the best option to add bluetooth?

Can I tap a fuse to hardwire my radar detector or will that cause something fragile to break?
My reverse lights are incredibly dim - I can't see where I'm backing up at night. Recommendations here? LED bulbs?
Trim:
This has the older side-by-side cup holders that push out, like so:

One of them refuses to close. Anyway to repair, or do I have to replace?
Can I replace the CD holders with something more practical?
Ashtray (or whatever it is) in the center console refuses to close. I found a small plastic spring that had been discarded. Repair or replace?
Parking brake lever is pretty worn - cheap replacements anywhere?
Driver side sunvisor mirror is missing the fold down cover - the mirror is in my face when I pull down the visor and sometimes reflects light. Do I have to replace the whole visor or can I find this part specifically?
Roof:
I have the stock rails. I have a carbon fiber bike, which Suncoast tells me is not recommended with the Porsche bike holder. Recommendations for aftermarket bike holder?
Recommendations for a wind deflector to use with the sunroof and above rack?
PS:
When do I start worrying about timing chain guides? Currently at 42k miles.
Thanks in advance for all of your help. I sold my last German car over 10 years ago and I forgot about what makes them special and what makes them frustrating. I swore I'd never buy another one unless it was a Porsche - so far it's worth it; had a lovely drive over the mountains on the same road Porsche used for a Cayenne press junket recently

I can't comment on many of the more substantial questions - as I am also a new 2000 C4 owner. Of course, I read a lot of info *after* making the purchase, which is how i find myself owning a brick at the moment - but I'm working on that
There is a TON of info online.
Where we share common cause:
* Ashtray also doesn't close. I saw a DIY project someone put a homelink garage opener in that space. i have several mini computers (rasberry pi, jetson nano) I was thinking of wiring in.
* parking break lever is also worn, but mine is of the Walnut Burr Dark variety, so its probably insane $$ to fix. The door pocket lids were $700 each.
* also have the rails and a bike (not all CF), but i haven't looked into a holder for it yet.
