Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The *only* place I could see this justified is if you've replaced the steering wheel with a non-AB wheel, but then just removing the bulb would be simpler (at least in my state you wouldn't be passing a safety inspection anyway).

Oh, BTW, there's some kind of kids' event happening there tomorrow, and they've asked us to use the rear entrance so we don't scare the children.

If you want to keep the SRS functional while removing the driver-side airbag, you can also use a resistor in place of the driver-side airbag.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Wouldn't it make more sense to find and fix the cause, not just the light? Somebody did a hack job on the seat buckle wiring in my car instead of fixing it properly, and I don't really understand why they wouldn't just fix it right the first time. Now I get to spend extra time and $ making right.
Yeah that's my thought too. The *only* place I could see this justified is if you've replaced the steering wheel with a non-AB wheel, but then just removing the bulb would be simpler (at least in my state you wouldn't be passing a safety inspection anyway).
Or you could go the route of the PO for my last e30 and just put electrical tape over the lights
If you want to keep the SRS functional while removing the driver-side airbag, you can also use a resistor in place of the driver-side airbag. This trick will keep the airbag light from turning on and will still allow your passenger the luxury of a face full of slightly subsonic, explosively-launched fabric instead of a mouthful of dashboard...
A 3.3 ohm resistor will keep the car happily believing there is a driver-side airbag installed where it should be - IMO, this is the most easily reversible modification - and the benefit is that your passengers remain safe...
Removing the bulb, taping over the bulb, etc. are unforgivably ghetto considering how easy the resistor mod is.
Heh. W/e floats your boat, amigo. A goodly percentage of semi-track-prepped cars I see have a driver seat with a harness and a stock passenger seat.
If I choose to install an aftermarket wheel w/ no airbag, I'd still want the wife's airbag to function...I'm already ugly so it doesn't much matter to me, but I'd hate for her face to get the windshield treatment.
For those that choose to disable the system from working - why not just wire up a switch and 12v to the pax airbag? If your passenger gets annoying, *click* *BOOM!*
Her other video is of explaining how to put on 996.1 headlight covers. Ok, now this explains a lot of things. I get it now.

Ah, jesus, not the screwdriver again.
Fuhh!
Say what you want about the content - the heartfelt delivery brings tears to my eyes.

OP, while I'm not a fan of the screwdriving, the first part of the SRS light video (removing the cluster) is actually great info - I now have no excuse for not doing the OBC hack.
I knew I recognized her and her questionable skills from somewhere! I've cringed over the eyelid video before. For being a 996 DIY master you'd think she'd know that the headlights just pop right out so you can work on them inside where there is no wind to blow dirt and debris right back onto the lights that you just cleaned...
Those aren't rock chips on the bumper. That's from her "How to remove bugs" video where she used a ... wait for it ... screwdriver!
I wonder if she plans to do a "How to get your bumper installed correctly" video at some point. Man that thing is way out of place
