Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

my Michelin 4s had a slight hum at some speeds they replaced the continental dw that got louder as they aged but both about the same sound level just at different times

I don't have the Extreme Contact Sport but do have the Sport Contact 6 with the 240TW rating that I use for summer/AutoX use on the Honda.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have been using, and have been happy with them:
Michelin Pilot Sport
Fr: 225/40ZR18 (92Y)
Rear: 285/30ZR18 (93Y)
Has anyone been happy with another brand? Good wet traction, doesn't wear out in 8K miles, quiet...
Looking for possible replacement brand...
What say you?
Recently switched from PS4's to Firestone Firehawk's (indy 500s?) and have been perfectly happy. Seem to grip well in the rain and dry for normal every day driving circumstances and noise level seems par with PS4's. Can't speak on wear however since they're still damn near new. Don't drive the car often but for when have seemed to suit well. Longevity is the one point can't hit on since they're still basically new.
Well since you live in "no snow country" and the DWS are all season tires you probably don't need those. I bought the DWS for a winter setup although on my Honda Civic Type R. They work well and are just a little buzzy. I don't have the Extreme Contact Sport but do have the Sport Contact 6 with the 240TW rating that I use for summer/AutoX use on the Honda. I like them but wear is high with the 240TW. Maybe someone will chime in who owns a set of Ex Cont Spt tires.
different times performance on track numbers leads to a noisier tire
plus noise is subjective rubber compounds and patterns have resonance but loud to you might not be miy experience

Not a lot of choices. More if you go with 35 vs 30 on the rears. But in relation to your pilot sports, they are all light years ahead in wet grip and noise if you stick to the street tires. All season will be softer rubber.
I would stick with Michelin. They are hard to beat. I also like to check out the Tire Rack tests. Not the reviews - those are people reviews - but rather, the tests they do comparing tires, where they measure stopping distance, lateral acceleration on the skidpad, etc.
I have always liked Continentals for dailys. I had a set of Extreme Contact Sports on my 944 and a set of both Pro Contacts and Extreme Contact DSW06s on my Mercedes C300 and they all did great in all weather conditions, including snow, and I never noticed any road noise. I will say that I don't find my MPS4Ss on my 996 now to be excessively loud. I also don't feel that they are wearing excessively fast on my car as a daily. I have put about 8k on them and they still have plenty of tread. I have also found they do surprisingly well in the rain. I just drove 250+ miles on them this weekend through torrential downpour and partially flooded roads and never had any issues. The Michelins are expensive, but by far the best all around performance tire I have ever had.
