Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Its been a couple of years, so maybe thats changed for the better.

If you need to run the seat all the way back to the stop tab, your seat will butt up against the B-pillar floor trim.

I really could use about two or three more inches of legroom, it's pretty tight.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm a new Porsche owner and new here to the forums. I put together a big and tall reaction video on my new to me 996.2 C4S. Some of the common things we see in all reaction videos. But, more stuff on how big and tall drivers cope (or not) in a 996.

I have a Targa and am 6'5" and about 215 pounds with a 37" inseam.
I really could use about two or three more inches of legroom, it's pretty tight. Headroom is actually pretty good.
The GT3 Console Delete mod made a large difference in the legroom and I suggest doing it for your car. It's a simple and relatively cheap mod. Since you have a black interior the parts should be readily available.
Installation was fairly easy, the brackets are not quite perfect and there was some trouble getting everything lined up and the bolts started. I seem to remember the bolts they provided were fairly crappy so I ended up buying different ones.
The plastic covers on the "toes" of the seat tracks can't be used, or I could not figure out how their adapter to put these covers on worked. So I left the covers off.
The downside is that when I have the seat perfect for my legs I can barely reach the steering wheel. I suppose I need one of those wheel extenders too.
I think that the GT3/Boxster center console delete is a better way to go. My car has the double din PCM radio so that isn't easy for me.
Uhhhh...kinda. I dont recall the instructions being specific for our car and too vague. Its been a couple of years, so maybe thats changed for the better. The install is fairly easy if you just look at the rails and not overthink why there are different bolts included. I recall having two bolts I couldnt see where they would go. Anyway, the brackets take about 30 minutes to put in and fiddle with once the seat is out. If you need to run the seat all the way back to the stop tab, your seat will butt up against the B-pillar floor trim. The stock front rail plastic trim pieces wont fit anymore. If you have a fire extinguisher driver side, that may not fit properly, as well.
Im 6 4, 33 inseam and I found a 50mm steering wheel extender worked best for instant leg room and better positioning in my case.
6'2" 235 and no issues. Have had my 5'2" daughter comfortably sitting behind my 5'2" wife on passenger side but nobody could sit behind me when driving outside of a carseat. Wearing a helmet at HPDE was a little tight but doable.
Thanks for the reply. Im 64, 36 inch inseam and 180lbs. No issues with headroom or legroom except my left leg occasionally bumps the wheel when letting out the clutch. A simple tilt of the steering wheels would fix everything but not tilt function.
Thanks for the reply. The steering wheel extender may be a better option for me. See my reply above
here are the printed install instructions for the extenders:

I'm also larger and fit fine. But not in a 996 Targa. I sat in one while I was shopping and there is a larger rail on the left side for the sliding top. When sitting straight up it wasn't an interference, but leaning just slightly to the left my head hit that rail. It was pretty much a deal killer, I would not have been willing to put up with that.
I am long of torso (short of leg) and ...ahem...not skinny.....part of what sold me was fitting into the car as compared to some other marques I looked at.
6.4 280, can only fit in a cab or pre 996 targa. Pushing 60 yrs now and think after 30 yrs of having one I'm done with em. Just bought an Audi S8 L and the room is amazing. Think I'm gonna sell my current cab.
I'm 6'1 305lbs, 33 inch inseam 42 inch waist. I'm no small guy. my shoulders obviously are quite wide and dont fit into the seat like a 180 pound person but i am comfortable and fit without issue with my seat all the way back. i at first thought the thigh to steering wheel would be a problem as im only like 2 inches off the steering wheel but it hasn't been.
I got mine from the Spacer Shop. €280, w/ shipping, from the designer who drives a Porsche Turbo and lives by Monza. Take that Ferrari! Real good install video. I love the spacer and so does my super-model tall wife.
Very nice add-on for better hand position.
I'm just over 6'2", about 198 (used to be less, but damn that COVID and working from home all the time). I have a long torso and long legs. I am fairly comfortable in the seat as far as leg room goes. I understand why Porsche left tilt wheel out of the car. If I tilted the wheel it would hit my legs. I wish the stock seat back shoulder wings were wider. It hits my shoulder blades in the wrong spot.
Sitting in a car with the GT3 delete and now in mine without, it really does give (at least the feeling of) a ton more room in the front of the car. I'm just 6'1" @180lbs my knees feel a bit cramped.
i don't know if I'll be able to get by without my 5 CD storage tray tho 🤔🤔
