Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

28 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im looking at a couple of 4s that are both equally prepped but I love the look and feel of my factory 99 aero but got a very good offer for it much more then what I paid for it 3 months ago but I see the relative profit potential in my 99 but I really dont know if the the c4s is worth more or will it gain more value in the future I know my early 99 aero in glacier white is something unique but I I love the fat assed 911 also so Im asking for your opinion on potential future value and other then gt3 which is out of my league Mike

mike I spent a bunch of time looking at the values of the air cool cars before buying mine. I also saw how our cars were appreciating and thats why I decided to buy mine. Now Im all in less than $20k, I have been offered $25 for it, no Im not selling. On the air cools The s tended to be worth more and have appreciated more. Now on our cars only the 99 have cable throttle and your car is a factory aero. A thing with 996 4s is that they dont have any more power. On the other water cool Porsches the 4s have more power than the base. I dont know how many miles your car has. To give you a clue regarding possible value for your car, This last week I saw two 99 Aeros for sale. One was silver, I believe 85k miles and the owner wanted $35k, the other one lapis blue with 138,000 miles, it was posted at $38k. Now a bunch of people have said that the 996 4S have the best rear of any Porsche. I believe your car will continue to appreciate. I have seen higher mileage 4s anywhere from $32 to $36. In the end its going to be supply and demand. If its feasible to you keep your car and buy a 4S. Im probably going to buy a boxster trip for my wife this week.

POST 3Original post

I had a 99 aero. Sold it and bought a 2002 C4S. There are big differences in the way the cars feel/drive. The C4S feels much heavier in the steering. Also not as light on its feet in the corners. But the power difference was night and day. The extra torque is very noticeable. Then theres the looks. Thats subjective. Also, the interior in the C4S is much nicer than my 99 was. I sold my 99 for $4k more than I paid for it after driving it for two years and adding 10k miles (BaT). But the C4S will most likely appreciate more. It just depends whats of most value to you.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys on your responses very insightful but I have money to buy another 911 but not the wife’s patience or the room have 09 S4 cabriolet 88 M3 and 88 944TURBO T/S plus 2 daily’s and I live in NYC so space is tight so 1 911 is good but which one to chose is killing me

POST 5Original post

Where are you located? I have a 4S (guards) and would consider a trade for the right aero. I almost bought a 99 C4 aero but it bombed the Ppi. I have a fondness for them. 😀😀😀

cool cars. Like a bunch of other people from Cali and NY that are constantly moving here, mike consider moving here to Katy Texas, west Houston. Great cost of living, a bunch of the people that I have talked to buy double the house for half the price. No state tax. You can buy a dedicated garage from garage of Texas . 4 car space air conditioning, etc less than $150. Whats the mileage on your aero.??

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ha thanks for moving offer but I LOVE Ny as the song goes I’ve lived in Connecticut and San Diego Cali great but didn’t have the diverse grit I love plus I like the change of seasons Argeo I’m in Staten Island next Brooklyn nyc but I don’t own red cars they tend to be bad luck for me even though I love them all of my accidents either involved red cars ones I owned or were hit by one

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My aero is about to hit 99k all wonderful miles

POST 10Original post

Good luck with the decision. Not a bad choice to have.

POST 11Original post

Eh future value shmalue... Drive both and look back as you walk away from each. The one that puts a bigger smile on your face is the car you want. Buy the car that will make you happy now, not one that potentially could in the future because of few extra grand in your pocket.

That's solid advice right there!

POST 13Original post

Cars are awful investments. Best ROI on your car will be an OEM bumper, but if you dig what's on there, who cares!

POST 14Original post

You get awd with the C4S. May come in handy if you are driving year round. Put some snow tires on that baby and you will get just about anywhere you need too in style.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Naw I have 4Runner Trd for real winter driving the choice is for my mistress driver since I have a wife and want to keep her a bit longer LOL plus the offer I have is a good one but only want to sell it for another 911 I hardly drive my E30 M3 since I got the aero these 911 are addictive

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 17623330

If the 993 market is any remote indication then the widebody C4S will be worth more than narrowbody cars. That said I'm also of the opinion that the early C2 cable throttle/LSD coupes will be the ones to have for the driving experience.

POST 17Original post

I think the early Aero cars will see steep appreciation over the next few years due to their rarity and looks. Wouldn't surprise me if they pull 996TT values. Three years ago I passed on a very nice low mileage example and it still haunts me to this day. While 996 values are up I think these are still somewhat the "golden days" to find nice examples while they're still obtainable.

POST 18Original post

LSD/aero 99 in a cool color combo would be the goat

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah tthe lsd eludes my car but at the next or if I need diff work I will add an lsd I think it’s essential to a sports car especially a rear pendulum swing car like the 911 im just baffled by Porsche not including it on every 911 sports car company my ***

POST 20Original post

Regarding lsd, The AWD system is pretty nice too. I dont drive too fast but it really gives a sense of security in the rain. On the highway, rock solid with the weight. I love the aero personally but Ive been told Boy Racer by a few. Time will tell, Id pay more for one.

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All wheel drive is wonderful 4 season car for sure BUT for pure driving enjoyment rear wheel wins all day I have an s4 with a v8 wonderful in every situation but my E30 M3 and my 99aero wins in driving feel most smiles when I want to be a hooligan Mike

POST 24Original post

Values are hard to guestimate. I remember when NO ONE wanted 911 SCs with all their "inherent" problems.... find them on local lots for $15K all day long... I remember when NO ONE wanted 964s with all their "inherent" problems... I remember when NO ONE wanted 1995 993s vs the later cars because of their "inherent" problems. Moral of the story, buy what you like, anything cheap today will likely go up in value tomorrow in the Porsche world if you keep it clean. Apparently mileage doesnt matter either. Look at 944 Turbos and and 944 S2s now for crying out loud LOL Of course if you suffer a catastrophic engine failure, the value in your "investment" goes out the window. My vote is return the 99 Aero car to stock body work and pile on the happy miles

POST 25Original post

Gee I am not sure 😀 All 1999 two wheel drive cars, love them Rich

awesome, I love ❤️ my car, yesterday at cars and coffee. Had 50 percent mix 104 race fuel in tank, it definitely makes a difference. Out of 25 cars mine was the third oldest. There was a 73 1/2, thats the efi first year. And a yellow twin plug with a wail tail. Anyway drove it last night again to Dairy Queen 👸 thats a Texas thing, late take out for wife and son. The two employees at the window were asking me all kinds of questions about the car my 18!year old chihuahua rat terrier got a free pup 🐶 scoop. Also, I test drove that blue 09 carera s, 6 speed, bone stock, has never seen the rev limiter. I shifted at 6,000 rpms twice. Unfortunately that car is already a $60k on bat and I am afraid is going to go for high dollar. Taking my wife to breakfast in it this morning. After that smoking a brisket 7 lb point. Life is good. 🍺 Ipas and Miller lite already cold happy 😃 holiday weekend guys. 09 Carrera s, cream puff 46k miles and it has never hit rev limiter. Great guy he wants a GT3. The yellow is a twin plug wail tail. 15 gts, 08 cab turbo, then my car. I still have plastic protectant over my floor mats my dog got a pup 🐶 scoop at Dairy Queen. She loves ice cream she doesnt have any teeth, but she still thinks she is a Doberman.

POST 28Original post

Even at a DE the 1999 996 is one of the oldest cars just like your Cars and Coffee event, 1999 last of the “analog” cars, much fun! Rich
