Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm not even a fan of Lucas but I figure they've tested their formulation enough that the cats and sensors will be ok.
Leading evidence: 'Test their formulation enough' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean real good opening the plate' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

For my '00 C2 with 58k miles, I use the Lucas upper cylinder lube at every fill up.

do the 3 things then change the oil, may as well change your air filter.

It seems people suggest changing the oil after using a fuel additive.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

On my car I had a ticking noise, Porsche tech 3 suggested it wasnt bore scoring, anyway it turns out I had carbon deposits, this thing fixed it.
I own an '03 C2 with 60K miles. It gets driven once a week or so in non-winter conditions. Given the number of miles when I bought it 2 years ago, it would seem the previous owners treated it in much the same way.
No problems with the car...wondering if there are any treatments I should do, just as general maintenance. Fuel additives? Seafoam into the intake? Something else?
Thanks.
For my '00 C2 with 58k miles, I use the Lucas upper cylinder lube at every fill up. 1oz to every 1.5 gallons (around 200:1 ratio). Just enough for a small level of two-stroke lubrication benefit. i don't use additives in any of my other cars but with our "1970's Vega inspired" Alusil cylinders and changing fuel formulations over the years, I figure it is low cost and can't hurt. I'm not even a fan of Lucas but I figure they've tested their formulation enough that the cats and sensors will be ok. I think the same of Marvel Oil and I've read that Porschetech3 favors castor bean oil.
Surprised this thread didn't get more responses...should a car w/ 60K miles get some Seafoam sprayed into the intake to clean up valves/pistons? Is such a treatment more about years or miles?
Yes, but that one is exclusively about fuel additives. I'm also wondering if anybody uses products that go through the throttle body on a regular/occasional basis.
so for a total system clean up. Carb cleaner for your throttle body, clean real good opening the plate. Techron complete fuel system cleaner. Wait till you are 1/4 on fuel tank, add and fill to about 3/4. Then run it all the way below 1/4 . Then use CRC GDI, disconnect at air box, someone has to help because you need to try to maintain 2000 rpm, spray the whole can. Let it soak, the instructions say 1 hr I did mine for 1 1/2 hours. Then drive car , it says you need to get it to highway speeds for at least 10 minutes. On my car I had a ticking noise, Porsche tech 3 suggested it wasnt bore scoring, anyway it turns out I had carbon deposits, this thing fixed it. Ticking noise gone.
Use top tier premium gas 91-93 octane (they already have the additives in them). I suppose if for some reason you have to use crappy gas it wouldnt hurt to put a bottle of fuel additive in a full tank.
