Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2003 C2.. I noticed for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I turned the car on in the morning and the idle was less than 1000 (and the vacuum sounding fan in engine wasnt on).. I blipped the throttle and car died. Turned it on right away and the normal idle for cold was back (prob 1300?). Its happened about 3 times in a month. Last time I slowly gave some gas and the idle jumped up to normal (and I heard the vacuum sounding fan come on as well like it usually does with cold starts). Indy ran diagnostics code and nothing came up. any ideas what it could be?

POST 2Original post

First do an e-gas calibration - turn key to ON (not start) and wait 60 seconds. Should be some clicking and whirring sounds from the engine bay (not the SAI pump). Do not touch the accelerator pedal during this cycle. Then turn key to off. Then start normally and see what happens.

POST 3Original post

Id also try cleaning the throttle body... sounds like you might have some mechanical stickiness in there...

POST 4Original post

Mine started doing this exact thing out of the blue. As dporto suggested, a throttle body cleaning seems to have cleared it up for me.
