Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. I have checked the coolant which is fine as well as the Brake fluid.
Leading evidence: 'Check coolant' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'source will be easy' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check coolant' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

At the shop the car will be raised and checked from underneath.

Suspected cause
With that much fluid I suspect the source will be easy to spot.

Suggestion
Based on your observation you said you checked, coolant and brake fluid and they were ok, which means they were completely full?

Suggestion
Thats enough fluid that you'll notice levels getting low on everything you can check, except maybe engine oil.

Suggestion
If the fluid was important it would be easy enough to find out when the car is running (other than check the oil) as enough of a coolant loss and it will run hotter, and if it's power steering then that would make a lot of noise.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi there,
Recently bought a Porsche 911 996 C4 Cabrio (auto). The car is very well looked after by the previous owner. Everything is recorded and kept as receipt. I have been driving the car for few months without any problems. Last night, i went out for a short drive, came back and parked the car when i saw oil(?) leaking from underneath the front end of the car. I am not sure what sort of oil it is and where it is leaking from. I have checked the coolant which is fine as well as the Brake fluid. The other thing it could be is either the transmission fluid or power steering fluid.
I have the attached the pictures:
Many Thanks.
Looks too spread out to be engine oil or transmission oil. The A/C system doesn't carry that much oil.
Power steering fluid is a possibility.
(As is I guess windshield washer fluid: water mixed with some cleaning agent.)
Is the fluid water soluble? If so power steering or brake or clutch hydraulic fluid. (Or windshield washer fluid.)
If not then some kind of oil.
Right now doesn't make any difference.
Unless you are prepared to wrench on the car there where it sits my advice is to have the car flat bedded to a shop and have a professional tech make the diagnosis and of course then address the cause of the leak.
At the shop the car will be raised and checked from underneath. With that much fluid I suspect the source will be easy to spot. A check of fluid levels will be used to confirm the origin of the fluid.
+1 first things first, check all of your fluid levels. I also assume you wiped a bit of that up to try and 'feel' what it is? Thats enough fluid that you'll notice levels getting low on everything you can check, except maybe engine oil. And it is oily right, not windshield washer fluid?
Keep us posted.
Can't be oil, is not a leak is a full splash, I will go more for power steering fluid. Based on your observation you said you checked, coolant and brake fluid and they were ok, which means they were completely full?
Are you sure that it is not water? The air-conditioner drain is above the plastic pan. If the car is parked facing down hill it would run toward the front.
Other wise the steering rack is above that pan also.
Vote for coolant. Is it low?
Fwiw, I was wearing sandals a month ago and under hard breaking some water pee'd on my feet. Who knows where it came from.
Check all fluid levels. If your coolant and engine oil level is good then start the car and move your steering wheel from side to side and see if there's any kind of howling. If so, it's power steering.
I could be wrong but I would think that the only crimped hoses like the one you illustrate would be on the AC or the power steering circuit. My vote would be for power steering. If the PS reservoir is dry or very low, do not start the car as cavitation will soon wreck the PS pump.
+1
If your power steering reservoir is empty then it's pretty obvious and you won't need to test it.
Also agree on the hose connection. That's a high pressure hydraulic hose.
That was going to be my other comment. If the fluid was important it would be easy enough to find out when the car is running (other than check the oil) as enough of a coolant loss and it will run hotter, and if it's power steering then that would make a lot of noise.
