I just double checked the European parts catalog and did not see anything that referenced an M030 for the C4S.

Suggestion
If you are buying just to replace your worn out units then I would recommend ROW from Porsche(RoW M030 package lowers the front +/- 20 mm and the rear +/- 10 mm).

Suggestion
Another option if you don't care about lowering is to just replace your shocks with Bilstein HD units or if you want more comfort, Koni FSD shocks.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What say you?
Depends on if you're a stance freak, performance oriented, brand snob, what your priorities are...
I love it when these types of questions are asked and everyone gives you opinions on what "they" like based on "their" priorities. Or the ones that jump on bandwagons and psychologically think that it must be good for "them" since everyone else is using it.
Give us something to go on like amount of lowering, comfort, noise, adjustability, etc.
You probably don't want to do coilovers. It addds unnecesary complexity to the assembly (and I notice you are in Jersey -- You probably want handling to avoid the potholes on the turnpike
). Plus, most people don't adjust the coilovers that much.
Just get the sport Bilstein stuff that comes on the Porsche X73 or whatever the code is. Lowers the car a little, not too much, gives the handling a bit more live-ly-ness and call it a day. Will be cheaper too.
I have coilovers but that's due to the track stuff. However, after getting everything dialed in for me, and other suspension bits, I don't adjust the coilovers.
H&R are Bilstein's they just are set their idea of what is suited for the car, unlike pss10's no adjustment other the height can be done. The street version is more for the street where as the RSS version is tuned for the Nurburgring.
I installed the RSS version, love them but I'd stay with just shocks and lowering springs if it were my daily driver, rain, snow because Bilstiens rust and the front has very weak mounting points for the front sway bar tie rods.
We have a conversation! Alpine thanks for the guidance here we go.
Don't care about stance, perfectly happy with original stock height. If she is lowered and I get a little performance improvemnet i am open to it.
Not a brand snob but do believe in buying quality i am okay to spend more with a reputable brand and high quality standards.
Priorities are handling, ability to avoid/absorb NJ Turnpike potholes, at the same time i have 315s on the rear with 19in turbo rims - i am willing to sacrifice some comfort.
I would say... Quality, Street Handling, Comfort, Stance, Brand are my priorities in that order.
996 with coilovers is the way to go, transforms the car.
If you're doing very little track driving, go for BC. Low price, good company to work with, comfortable, good street adjustments.
If you are buying just to replace your worn out units then I would recommend ROW from Porsche(RoW M030 package lowers the front +/- 20 mm and the rear +/- 10 mm). You can't lose with that as it's specifically engineered for your car by the maker. You did mention 99% street so I will not recommend x73 option which lowers it more and is quite a bit harsher in ride, not to mention having to dodge every pothole in the area you live in.

I'm not sure if you currently have the US M030 option on your car.
I agree that most peeps that end up with CO's either don't know how to properly adjust them or end up adjusting one time and then never touching them again. I only recommend this route to stance freaks that need an exact lowering amount to their specific tastes or track junkies where they plan to corner weight and constantly adjust them for the various tracks they may go to. Otherwise IMO, it's a waste to have them most of the time.
Very much sounds like the RoW 30 package is the one that best suits my needs.
Thanks for the link.....interesting i had just spoken with SunCoast and they didn't think there was a package for a C4S will reach out carrenewall. I did reference Row 30 to suncoast. I am also trying to be careful on the overall driving experience the 19 inch wheels i have now, and the RSS engine mounts i am ordering are going to make this harsh enough in my opinion anyway.... thank you.
I went with a new PSS10 setup. Ordered from Carnewal. Price was good, in my opinion, ~ 2000 USD shipped. Very happy with the end result. Lowered the car maybe an inch. 4 clicks in front and 7 in rear.
That's a great price for those CO's and will probably be the lowest you'll see them. Luckily the Euro is pretty low as it's been in quite some time and we can take advantage of it.
Is Carnewal still the spot to order the ROW kit? I'm waiting on a shipping quote from them. I'd prefer suncoast, but our dollar is getting smoked.
OP - i'm in the same boat as you, same priority list.
I believe Carnewal is the better buy if you can wait on the shipping since the Euro is weak now. Suncoast has also recently raised their prices on ROW kits by a few hundred so it's no longer the deal as it used to be. It might be worthwhile to see what Sunset can do. Haven't checked ROW pricing over there recently.
I live in MA and have to believe our roads are just as bad, if not worse, than yours in NJ. There's no way I would put coilovers on my car because the ride would be very harsh and put unnecessary stress on other suspension bits every time you go over something.
With the turbo suspension that the C4S has, I already have a firm, but not harsh ride. If I was in your position, I would get the ROW030 setup or replace with OE components. My use is identical to yours. Just my 2 cents.
But you're in San Diego. I had PSS9s on an E36 M3 and the potholes and poor road conditions made driving an art form in that I didn't hit any other car. It took the fun out of it.
In contrast, the car was brilliant and a pleasure to drive in Florida where I lived before moving north.
What's sad is I have GT3 Coilovers but can't even ride on them at GT3 height. I had to raise it up a bit due to my roads. Yes, TX,AZ,FL,CA,NV,etc. guys need not apply as their world is different than ours.
The strangest thing. Sun coast is telling me there is no ROW30 option for the 4S only for the narrow body. Here is my email chain with them.
The M030 is for the Narrow body models, which we list on our website here:
https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...WM0302002.html
That could be the X73 kit which was for the Turbo and C4S. The color markings on the springs seem to refer to that kit. I priced out the springs and struts from the X73 kit and we are @ $4100 not including shipping.

As far as I know there is no M030 option for the wide body C4S model. There was an X73 kit, which has since been discontinued...
I just double checked the European parts catalog and did not see anything that referenced an M030 for the C4S.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you out with.

Subject: RoW Sport Suspension for US P96 C4S
Hi i have a 2002 Carrera C4S.
When looking at the suspension options I don’t see anything available for my car.
I think i am looking for
RoW Sport Suspension for US P96 C4S
Basically a little lower and new struts/sprints bars etc…
Do you carry it and what would my price be if so.
Thanks
Alex
Not surprised by this. Are you aware that the turbo and 4S have a slightly lower suspension than the standard Carrera. 25mm lower I believe. If you are not tracking, have no need to lower and corner balance the car, Id go with stock struts and call it a day.
Suncoast may only know of the US options and
some
of the European options. Gert at Carnewal will have better knowledge of
all
the options available in the European market IMO. He's been doing this for quite awhile and have no reason to doubt anything Gert says.
I also noticed the lack of C4S ROW on Suncoast site. If anything, ask Gert for the part numbers of the ROW he sells and see if Suncoast or Sunset is able to get those same parts. At least you can compare pricing that way.
I had K-Sports on my 996 in Michigan. To give you an idea of the road conditions there, here is the shock tower of my E36M3 on H&R lowering springs and Bilstein shocks:

Still didn't find the K-Sports to be harsh.
The E36 M3 had notoriously weak RSMs, as you found out! I upgraded mine before I put the PSS9s specifically because of that. Sucks to see that happen to anyone.
