Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi there. I tried opening my car with a key for the first time and the key wont turn. Should it be sliding further in? It feels like it should.
Second part. If I can open the door I cant power the battery to open the hood. Any suggestions to power it? Maybe from the starter?
Thanks!
There is a jump point in the trunk. Ground goes in the bolt that holds down the airbox and there is a black plastic cover over the 12v bolt to the right of the power steering fill cap.
get the door lock fixed asap
Perkgana,
Your post is a little vague, but we're assuming you
can NOT
access the interior of the car either by the wireless keyfob or the conventional method of using the key in the door as you have shown, correct?
Ok... here's the deal... this is by far one of the most common problems with owning these cars.
Questions:
1. Do you have a spare working keyfob? If so, try it out on the car. Does it work? If not, move to #2...
2. Does the second key work to open the driver side door manually? From your image, it appears your lock assembly may be defective if the key won't insert and work in the keyhole to manually open the door. That's going to mean opening up the door panel to repair. Go to #3...
3. To access the battery compartment, you're going to have to locate the emergency manual release cable located behind the front bumper skin. Remove the passenger (US cars) side wheel and fender well liner to located. It is usually sitting on top of the air duct. You will have to hunt around for it because people tend to relocate it to different places. Hopefully, it's in clear view when you remove the fender well liner. Go to #4...
4. Once you get access to the battery, obviously you'll want to make sure the battery is charged fully before moving forward.
5. Make sure both keyfobs have brand new batteries in them. They use a common CR2032 type watch battery.
6. With the main battery charged and keyfobs working with new batteries, try opening the doors. Depending on how your car is setup, both doors should unlock remotely. If nothing happens, then that's going to mean a tow to the dealership to remedy.
You could also contact a locksmith to help you gain access to the interior, but that still doesn't solve the keyfob problem.
7. Once you gain access to the interior, try starting the car. In some cases, the cars go into sleep mode and need to be restarted to "fix" issues with remotes.
