I guess my question is I would really like to use these tips has anyone had luck fitting these tips on a MkII or was able to have a muffler shop retro fit them?

Hi I am doing a build on my 996.2 C2 and found the assortment of exhaust tips lack luster, all I wanted was a simple larger oval opening. I found a set of Tequipment tips which fit the bill perfectly but now I learn that they might not work because the 996.1 was slightly shorter than the 996.2. I guess my question is I would really like to use these tips has anyone had luck fitting these tips on a MkII or was able to have a muffler shop retro fit them? Thanks

Not sure if this helps, but the I believe 996.2 have a longer straight section after the flange, so they hang lower than the 996.1. In theory it should be possible to have a shop weld in a longer section to get the height you want. In the photo below, you can see the 996.2 tip that I bought by mistake and the 996.1 tip that worked on my 2001 C2: 996.2 on the left and 996.1 on the right

This is helpful actually if that is the case and its just the length of the straight section its seems something an exhaust shop can easily modify and adjust to hopefully get a proper fitment. Thank you.
