Can I use the existing wires or is it worth the effort to run bigger wires?

I ended up using a glue gun to attached the modified speaker housings to the front and rear grilles.

Suggestion
The 100VRS require an external crossover which would complicate the install and besides, the rears are used for fill...you will barely hear them.

Suggestion
It might be possible but most 996 installs have the Amp in the Front Trunk (convenient location for wiring to the battery versus trying to run a power wire into the cabin)
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was given a set of Focal K2 100KRS component speakers as a gift that are going in the dash. I'd like to upgrade the door and rear speakers to complete the upgrade. With that I have a few questions for those that know the Focal line. Here's what I'm thinking on getting:
Doors: 13WS 5" Subwoofers.
Rear: 100AC 2-Ways (or should I use the 100VRS component system?)
Will they fit?
Can I use the existing wires or is it worth the effort to run bigger wires?
Does the stock CDR-220 have enough power to drive the speakers or is it a huge mismatch?
If I upgrade to a high end double din unit do I have to get a power amp?
If I need an amp is there a decent one that will fit under the passenger seat?
I'm comfortable dremeling and modifying for fitment but I want to keep the stock look, I don't want an enclosure for woofers and I don't want an amp sitting under the trunk lid.
TIA !!!
I have a Focal speaker system and it sounds great. Follow the link below and scroll down a little bit and you'll find photos of my installation.

Would definitely use 100AC's in the rear. The 100VRS require an external crossover which would complicate the install and besides, the rears are used for fill...you will barely hear them. The 100AC's will fit.
Can I use the existing wires or is it worth the effort to run bigger wires?
I would use the existing wires as much as possible especially in the doors which would be difficult to run new wire to. You will need to run an additional pair of wires to each dash location in order to accommodate the K2 100KRS two-way system.
Does the stock CDR-220 have enough power to drive the speakers or is it a huge mismatch?
You will need an good Amp to drive this setup. I would upgrade the 220 to a new head unit in order to get new features (i.e. Bluetooth, USB etc.) and to get the most out of the overall upgrade.
If I upgrade to a high end double din unit do I have to get a power amp?
See above

See above and Dennis' install (will cost some extra $$$ for that level customization)

Thanks guys. So the 100AC's fit the rears and look like the way to go. I know Focal discontinued the 5WS's which I've seen used by others here so I'm guessing the 13WS's were their replacements and should fit. I'll do some digging around to check if the depth's are the same as that's the main concern. I'll probably do the speaker upgrades first and see how it sounds then the head unit later as budget allows.
OK, I found the specs on the old 5WS and the newer 13WS's. The depth of the 13WS is 0.5mm less and the width is 0.5mm more. So it looks like an easy fit. I'm gonna go ahead and order the 13WS's and the 100AC's. Thanks for your help!
Finally started the speaker install. I'm ready to start putting back in the door speaker enclosure and the 13WS speaker in the driver side door. I'm not sure which wires are neg and pos. One wire is black w/Green stripe and a large spade connector. The other is solid black with a small spade connector...... Which one is neg and pos?
Tried searching and looking at some diagrams but still uncertain.
TIA
The install went great. The only challenge was getting the tweeters installed in the front grilles at the correct angle so it would clear the opening in the dash when mounting the grille assembly. I ended up using a glue gun to attached the modified speaker housings to the front and rear grilles. Finding a suitable spot for the front speakers mini amps or crossovers, whatever they are, took a little thought. I velcro'd the right side amp to the crash bar in the dash behind the passenger airbag and the left one is velcro'd behind the lower center console on top of some module that lays flat on the center tunnel. The 13WS fit without any problem. The mounting ears don't align with the holes in the enclosure so I rotated the speakers slightly and screwed them in place.
The 13WS's are 4ohm speakers and the stock door speakers are 2ohm but they work just fine. I'm still using the stock head unit, amp and digital sound module. The difference in overall sound quality, bass and lack of distortion is significant. It's a huge improvement and I'm glad I did it. I'm still debating on doing a double din head unit and would imagine that would be an improvement in sound as well.
Rear speakers are for fill. Find the cheapest that will fit.
Definitely get an amp. Alpine pdx series are excellent and you will be well served.
New decks are definitely better and add all the bells and whistles if you are updating an older car. (NAV, bt, usb, iOS compatibility/control, apps and higher resolution screens). Some have power so use them for rear speakers but alpine makes tiny 45w x4 channel amps the size of a pound of butter. Perfect for the extra channels. The only speakers you need "real power" are your main front speakers and the sub. If budget allows tie it all together with a dsp. Some high end decks have eq and dsp built in Even better.
