Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used textar - yes some dust - but not any different from previous oem/brembo pads which were also textar parts when I looked close at them ..

Suggestion
My experience with my Boxster is sometimes a new set of pads/rotors generate little dust while at other times a new set will have the wheels black in no time.

Well, if the dust I'm producing continue I will wear these down in short order and switch to my ceramics I was using for the track.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

A few weeks ago I dropped in new Texstar brake pads that were represented as OEM. They are depositing a ton of dust on the wheels. Two things to rule out: Just city driving around--no different than before. Two, replaced the discs so I don't have old jacked discs chewing them up.
Is this just something that happens with new pads? Not my first replacements pads but don't remember so much dust. Any ideas? I'll keep an eye on them to see if dust accumulation abates.

You need to go for full ceramic pad if you want less/lighter dust - like akebono - but then brake feel will be different - doesn't bite as well at cold - good at normal temperature and I head they fade sooner at high temp (like track) - but didn't experience that myself. I have those on my bmw e46fronts - low dust - seem to be wearing much better than textar tears in that application ...
I have some padgets for DE that don't seem to burn dust but as we know need to be warmed up a bit to be effective. I'll stick with this program and see if the dust abates somewhat. To be clear, for a wash the wheels always need the most attention but this seem to be more than I remember. I'll put 5K on them and make a new call
My experience with my Boxster is sometimes a new set of pads/rotors generate little dust while at other times a new set will have the wheels black in no time.
Even though I buy the brake hardware from the dealer I attribute this to the different brake hardware suppliers and the differences in their product.
Along with the change in brake dust output I also notice some sets of brake hardware last longer than others even though my driving remains consistent from brake job to brake job to brake job.
As long as the brakes are not exhibiting any other signs of any trouble, it reads like you have just lucked (?) into a set of dusty brake pads/rotors.
Oh, after putting in new brake hardware I take the car out and do a brake bedding in operation. Afterwards I do not notice any change over time in brake dust production. Either the brake dust appears in no time and the wheels get black very quickly and this is the way it goes for as long as I have this brake hardware in service, or the brake dust stays very light and the wheels stay much cleaner, and this is the way it goes for as long as this set of brake hardware in service.
I have always been a fan of Porterfield R4S for street pads. I have them on my Super Duty tow vehicle as well and Cooper S. Last a good long time. work cold, work hot, great modulation, low tan colored dust.
Textar on Pcar and Jurid on M3 as that whatthey came with when I bought them. will go to P-field when time comes.
I was getting so tired of the constant brake dust I switched to Hawk performance ceramic pads front and rear last year. After bedding them in, I have been very pleased. Cannot tell any difference in stopping performance and very little dust. Happy customer!
No noise at all. A little squeak when I first put them on, but none after they seated in. I also didn't reinstall the dampeners. Thought that might be a problem, but all is good.
Same here...put in some ceramic pads (new rotors, no dampers), squealed something godawful for a bit, went out on the road and did the 60-0 hard brake about 6 times to bed the pads to the rotors, no problems since and very little brake dust. I am very pleased with performance, but as my DD it is mostly stop and go in town traffic, no track or DE days.
Well, if the dust I'm producing continue I will wear these down in short order and switch to my ceramics I was using for the track. ......or Hawk or other
Same experience here, I've bought multiple sets of Hawk street pads from Tire Rack.
For more normal stuff, I've been very happy with the ceramic pads from Autozone as well. I have a set of their best pads on my F150 that were a great improvement over the stock pads.
