Instead of handing my phone to the tire team, did the scans and installed the valves before I got to the shop.

It not as nice as the Schrader unit but I hate the idea of having to breakdown a tire to change a sensor/battery....

If they change the valve so it doesn't require a TPMS rim, this system is an absolute steal.

The iPhone AirCheck app is the interface between the wheels and the valves, so you have to run the app for data to be streamed to CarPlay.

Suggestion
Just put the metal valve stems in the wheels and use the screw on cap/sensors..with a Solar powered stick-on display on the upper windshield by the rear view mirror .....Batteries are easy to change out and last 1-2 years....

For whatever reason, every car I’ve owned catches a nail in the left rear tire shortly after buying new tires. This issue spans 5 different cars over the last 25 years. As a result, I researched every option for TPMS for my 996. I am not installing sketchy Chinese valves in my little slice of engineering nirvana.
Schrader released AirCheckBLE on July 1st, and I ordered my kit from eBay. The rims in my profile picture were made before TPMS – my tire shop reported the AirCheckBLE valves would not fit in my pre-TPMS wheels. A quick call to my Indy suggested 997 rims since that was the first year of TPMS in the 911. The 997 rims bolted right up and voila the valves fit perfectly. The recessed surfaces on 997 rims look like this.
If your rims don't look like this don't be surprised if this doesn't fit. I talked to a machine shop about persuading the rims to accept these valves and received the "get out of here" response. They didn't want to touch the liability.
AirCheckBLE valves are Bluetooth, and connect via an iPhone or Android app and then project the sensor data via CarPlay or the Android equivalent. I have a Apple, so I’m going to use Apple terms.
You just decide which sensor goes to which wheel then use the Schrader app to pair the valve to the wheel via QC code. Specialized TPMS pairing equipment is old school.

Not only do you get PSI, but tire temperature, which is outstanding.
Schrader’s product information is a bit limited on their website. These sensors are rated to 200 mph - just barely good enough for us. I ordered the kit with the range extender, but that is not necessary for use in the 996. The range extender is for trailers half a country mile behind truck.
This picture shows the QR code on the valve the app scans during installation to assign a valve to a wheel.. Instead of handing my phone to the tire team, did the scans and installed the valves before I got to the shop. They were impressed with the ease of pairing the sensors.
Schrader makes TPMS systems for a huge chunk of the auto industry. My eyes have watered when I’ve had to buy OEM TPMS systems for other cars I’ve owned. If they change the valve so it doesn't require a TPMS rim, this system is an absolute steal.
I’m happy with the look and fit of the 997 rims, but this kit should not require one to use TPMS rims. They’re selling this for pre-TPMS vehicles and trailers – I’m sure I won’t be the first person they’ve heard this from.
Thanks, 996.x, for sharing your experience and insights on TPMS! I used to own a 2003 C5 Corvette that had TPMS that told you the pressure in each wheel on the dashboard, and I missed it when I got my 2004 cabriolet. Like you, I'm not excited about going to TEMU for a solution, so I'll be keeping an eye on what Schraeder is doing to satisfy the demand from people with wheels like ours. Out of curiosity, did your 996 wheels look like these?

I used to hate TPMS when it was first Federally Mandated ( due to customers **** over 1 psi) , but now I Love it !!! .. Mine has saved me way over $1k in flat ( destroyed) tires,, and that much more on just time savings...

I think they are slightly different. The part number for the wheels I bought are 99736213600 (front) and 99736214001 (rear)
What looks different is how the spokes meet the wheel in the picture of my car.
In the beginning of TPMS the idiot light annunciation of low tire pressure drove me INSANE. It's so hard to tell on these low profile tires so I'd have to play the "Where's Waldo?" game. It was always the last wheel.
