Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Performed · outcome unconfirmed

It required filling the compressor a few times to build up enough vacuum but it worked fine.

Uview 5500 vs. FJC

Outcome qualification: Negation, uncertainty or missing explicit repair resolution overrides the raw extraction signal.

I'm sure you could use a 3 gal pancake if you had to but it'll take a little longer to build the needed vacuum.

Looking to maybe add to my tool kit but as infrequently that it would be used I found an alternative that is just half the cost.

I'd be interested to know if anyone using the Uview has done so with a smaller air compressor (e.g., 6 to 15 gallon).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 2 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have borrowed and used the Uview and it worked beautifully. Looking to maybe add to my tool kit but as infrequently that it would be used I found an alternative that is just half the cost. FJC 43610 Radiator Coolant Vacuum Refill Kit. Reviews are good, but am looking if any of the Rennlist community has any first hand experience. thanks Brian

POST 2Original post

I'd be interested to know if anyone using the Uview has done so with a smaller air compressor (e.g., 6 to 15 gallon). Thanks.

POST 3Original post

I would stick with the Uview.....it really makes things fool proof. I have a 27 gal compressor...Harbor Freight special. I'm sure you could use a 3 gal pancake if you had to but it'll take a little longer to build the needed vacuum.

POST 4Original post

I use the UView with my Porter Cable 4 Gallon Stack compressor and it works great. I'm sure it's faster with a bigger compressor, but it really only takes a couple minutes so it's not like you are waiting an hour.

POST 5Original post

I've used one with a cheap 2 gallon compressor. It required filling the compressor a few times to build up enough vacuum but it worked fine. And it still only took a few minutes.

POST 6Original post

Thanks. I'm probably going to order the UView and a Porter Cable compressor.
