Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
Let's just say, there is probably a plug that should be closing off that hole.
Leading evidence: 'plug' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'plug' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check those three out in particular' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

What this has to do with Porsche's I have no clue, but if you want a really good listen, check those three out in particular.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm missing a bolt, I think. It's the driver side rear. 03, 996.2 coupe
See in the middle? What's that for? Anyone know the bolt I need to purchase? How important is this?
Noticed it the other day while detailing the car.
I don't think so. That looks like it might be an alignment hole for the welding fixture that brings the chassis together. It looks as though there may have been a tape dot covering the hole and is now missing. If I remember, I'll take a look on my car to see what's there.
Edit: found photos in that area of my car. Too embarrassed to post. Let's just say, there is probably a plug that should be closing off that hole. Mine are in place.
Stevie Wonder's trilogy of "Music of My Mind" (1972)/"Talking Book" (1972)/"Innervisions" (1973) are beyond genius. I have been listening to those albums since they were new and I was 15 years old, and they're as fresh to me now at the age of 63 as they ever were, just insanely good music from a master of his art. What this has to do with Porsche's I have no clue, but if you want a really good listen, check those three out in particular. I guess I'm still just a funkateer at heart.
Guilty as charged Your Honor, and speaking of boomers, I was thinking of Porsches yesterday morning and the DJ on the radio (WMGK 102.9 Classic Rock in Philly) plays Steve Miller's "Wild Mountain Honey" and made my day! This song is so trippy and magical that I was inspired to pull out an electric guitar and play the synthesizer parts, not too difficult either and I really enjoyed it. Steve Miller is one of those underappreciated artists that actually has a number of great hits, can we say "Fly like an Eagle"/"Abracadabra"/"The Joker"/"Jungle Love", etc. I would mention more but I'm having a senility moment, has anyone seen my medication? By way of introduction, I have a 1999 Ocean Blue 996 C2 Manual with 77k miles, saddle interior with 18" Sport Design wheels painted GOLD, lowered 2" all around, K&N cold air kit, muffler delete and loud as sh*te! Also have a 1999 Arctic White Boxster 986 Manual with 88K miles, black interior with 17" factory wheels painted BLACK with a muffler delete kit and also loud, I like loud! The 996 I call Hans, and the 986 I call Franz, baby boomers will get it, and do all the work on them myself. Oops, Led Zeppelins "Misty Mountain Hop" just came on the radio, gotta grab the guitar.
Well, since we've solved the mystery of the open hole...

Hey Weazer - pay the measly membership fee for this place and you gain access to a few "members only" sub forums. When you do, be sure to look for the "Unique Seventies Sound" thread.
Once the initial question is answered, thats when these threads really get interesting and informative. FYI Ive started following the 997 forum as well and its nowhere near as fun/humorous as this one. Must be a pdk thing, lol.
