I used to use these custom ones that looked like center lock....really beautiful, but now I have ones that use the Dundon Logo to match the car.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I agree with De Jeepers questions, but also those top ones are plastic with little glued in Porsche emblems and those bottom ones look to be the metal ones with engraved crests. Personally I much prefer the engraved metal to the plastic.
They are super rare....I guy made them a few years back when he lived in China and only manufactured are few sets....they cost a small fortune but are a peice of art. Have tempted to just display them in my family room, but should probably sell them at some point. I used them on my 997 a few years back. They looked fantastic on the car making it look center lock ish. Here is another picture.
Would help to know the color of your car, but I always prefer colored crests. Here's an old 2005 thread I posted on wheel caps with my first 996 (
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...uestion-2.html
). Post #34 shows the car with silver ("Carrera 4", not silver crest) versus colored. Too bad I didn't post larger photos, but I think colored looks better than a "sea of silver" at the center of the wheel (though your silver "crest" caps would contrast more than my silver "Carrera 4" caps). Post #33 shows how a simple hack to prevent the colored crests from falling off, make the wheel caps impossible to steal, and improve the look (in my opinion) of the wheel caps by eliminating the holes.
Hah, I just noticed my caps are faded and I need (well, want) some new ones
I cannot fathom paying nearly $200 for 4 plastic discs, so if anyone has added decent quality non-OEM caps please let me know where you acquired them from.
Thanks!
PS - I vote for the colored version.
One of mine also disappeared! Been searching diligently for a solution, hard to believe nobody has jumped on this to provide decent quality aftermarket versions, like they did with sun visor covers, etc.
Thanks for the input!
I actually prefer this silver/black version, I am going to gove them a shot based on the positive feedback from other buyers. I'll report back on my satisfaction.
I have an original set of four black/gray (no color) centers from a previously owned 996 in very good condition. I changed them out for color versions. The purchaser of that car didn’t want them. I’ll send pictures to anyone interested. $50 shipped.

The glue has reached end-of-life. You're going to need all four shortly. Otherwise, pry off the good ones, clean off the old glue, and glue the emblems back on.
Yes, The car is rain forest green metallic. The emblems are some other color green. I may buy some OEM paint and make the emblems again if/when I get tired of these.
Thanks. I'm recently retired and wanted to learn CNC as a hobby. I'm not interested in starting a business. I might be persuaded to do a set or two when I have some down time between other projects.
Actually I'm going to see if I can recreate the center hub look that you posted. My equipment is strictly hobbyist level so it would be difficult to cut them out of a block of aluminum. Instead I'm thinking of 3D printing the body and topping them with aluminum.
