Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2002 911 C2. The roof is currently in the down state. After a winter i removed my hard top and tried to raise the roof and it is not moving. Parking brake is engaged and the light on the dash comes up. The little side flaps are currently in open state When i push the close button i hear the relays click and the motor trying to do something (i think it is the front latching mechanism) but the clam shell does not move. I have tried to gently help it move up but it seems to be firmly in place. When i try to close/open the roof the little side flaps are not moving, so they are stuck in their open position right now. I tried running diagnostic on the car and get a 020005 convertible top code, but my tool has no description. Also apparently the computer believes that the roof is in "Convertible top Raised" position, however it may be the result that closing process initiated therefore it is not in lowered state any more. Not sure... Latch locked: Catch Locked (may suggest that the front hook thinks it is closed) Anyone has any idea how i can proceed troubleshooting this? Thank you!

POST 2Original post

@mrtrodonet I would suggest that you get the $75 PIWIS from here https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ighlight=PIWIS Follow the instructions in the 997 thread to a T and get it running....You can then use it to command individual functions of the Convertable Top and see all the Switches and Potentiometers to see if they are functioning correctly or if the values are not correct.... After you find out why it has stopped functioning then you can use it to Calibrate the System... You can also use the "emergency procedure" in the Owners Manual to get the ClamShell open, then use PIWIS to test all other functions and to "reset" the ClamShell Motor Potentiometer...

This PIWIS setup is brilliant. Ordered my dongle. Had i known about it i would not have spent $400+ on that computer that you see in the pictures.. though it can test my other cars. But with all honesty stuff brakes on Porsche exclusively
