Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all, and
@Porschetech3
. Anyone have the URO part number for a replacement diaphragm for the uaos? Want to change out my existing and see if there is a difference. 6.3-6.5 readings on manometer most recently (measured 5.0 just a few thousand miles ago). See more smoke than I would expect out of bank 2 on cold start ups occasionally and want to start here. Roughly 6k on the uaos in 6 months, 7k on the fully rebuilt engine (2000 3.4-->3.8, Nickie's, 6spd).
Thanks for the help.
Well, rennlist, I believe this is it: URO Parts 077103245B. For anyone who might need it, since the instructions, etc don't go into any detail on this front.
Yeah, it's pretty frustrating. But the least of all the things that have gone wrong for me. Buried in the main UAOS thread is Skip suggesting this:

I think somewhere else he elaborates something along the lines of how the diaphragm he uses is specially reinforced or something. But there he recommends URO or OEM VW. Would be nice if someday the guidance were centralized somewhere and concise, as others have noted.
Yeah, they will eventually go. But one of the benefits besides the ability to run extra oil, is the ease of replacing that part in 5 min. I just plan on putting an extra one in my frunk next to my extra radiator cap.
Yes, that is the correct part # 077103245B.
I have tested 8 different versions of this regulator. The Uro and OEM VW/Audi are approved for UAOS
URO is used on the UAOS-AL versions and OEM VW/Audi is used on UAOS-E versions
The URO and OEM Vw/Audi have a diaphragm this is twice as thick Viton rubber as the Factory aos and maos diaphragms...
It has a 2 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty.
You can pop the regulator apart with a small screwdriver and check the diaphragm ( I have not seen one fail on UAOS)
Just send it back and I will send a new one
UAOS diaphragm vs Factory aos or maos UAOS diaphragm is twice as thick Viton rubber
Factory aos and maos 0.015 thick
Uro and oem vw/audi 0.040 thick Viton
You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Much appreciated. I'm saving my money for upgrades, among them a UAOS. The other day my front suspension started clunking and I'm told it's the ball joints on the coffin arms. So, there's that thing. Then my water-cooling system is in an ok state appearance wise, but I've no idea of the maintenance history, so it's got to be done. Then the oil systems. That's my indys recommendations as to order of fixing. Im trying to do cooling and suspension in one visit. A very, very nice chap here in the forums has offered to send me some low miles meyle arms, so I've got my fingers crossed a surprise will come in the mail at some point. I'm NOT going to pester him. Cough cough, ahem

👍🏆🏁. I know, it's a pain to ship things. I'm going to pm you, maybe there are other parts on your shelf I can buy that will make it more worth your while.

is an all around great guy , and is an "ACE" when it comes to DIY automotive technology for an Enthusiast . When his 996 needed a few rubber hoses, he replaced "every single hose" on his car .. Then tackled a DIY GT3 engine swap on it...and other sub--systems as well...This level of skill and commitment is unpresidented by any "Enthusiast" I have ever seen..People who are not Professionals in the field or have never done these things have no idea how rare that is....
Yes indeed,
