Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I ordered and received a set of Goodridge brake hoses to replace my existing (original) hoses. The ends on the Goodridge hoses are different, unlike the original hoses hex fittings. They have flat sides with some other ridges that might use a special wrench. Anyone ever use Goodridge brake hoses? Goodridge hose end

POST 2Original post

They should lock into the bracket. Im pretty sure the lines i got did have a hex in it either.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 18334352

So your Goodridge hose ends are hex? I've never seen anything like these. Does anyone use anything like these or know anything about these? What tool do you use to attach these to the caliper and flare nut? An open end wrench? (I may have to send them back just because I don't have tools to work with these. Too bad, they look really nice)

POST 4Original post

Our cars dont have soft lines directly to the caliper. There is another hard line. Remove your wheel and look at it, u dont need special tools to install them. Remove the hard lines from both sides, remove the ruber line, lock the new line into the bracket and tighten the hard line with a flare wrench, simple.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 18334502

I'm not replacing the brake lines. I'm just looking to replace the brake hose. The stock brake hose has hex fittings on both ends. As do most replacements that I've seen. My question has to do with the fittings mounted on these Goodridge replacement hoses.

POST 6Original post

They look just like stock to me. There are flat sides on the female connector to hold with a wrench while tightening the hard line.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Affirmative, got it. Thanks!
