Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
I’d highly recommend calling Sam at EVOMS for their software.
Leading evidence: 'Recommend calling sam at evoms' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend calling sam at evoms' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

What you will get is better throttle response, the ability to optimize running different intakes and exhaust, and adjustments to the power curve.

Suggestion
The reason is that many are written to override the cel warnings that pop up in the 996, if you are running non-oem exhaust system or intakes.

Maybe this thread can evolve into an honest to goodness actual testing thread.

I use Revo because back in the day, they built software specifically for the 996 that could be further optimized on the dyno.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

lm looking yo buy a JDM Stage 3 performance chip. for my 996 3.6 ltr. does anyone on here have any experience with this product by J d m . ? would be grateful for positive feedback. cheers & have blessed porsche' day .
You will probably get a lot of responses.
I have not had any experience with the group you mentioned.
I was very happy working with Evolution Motorsports for 3.6L
What's not to like about a forty horsepower increase and 'better fuel consumption'? Plus, how could you go wrong with any automotive product that has 'JDM' in the name?
"Peak acceleration by up to 20%
Fuel Economy: Better fuel consumption
Horsepower: Up to 40HP Increase
Torque: Up to 38.2 ftlbs added torque
Throttle: Up to 50% Better throttle response
Engine Output: Up to 15% Improvement
Additional Features: Higher Top Speed"
For grins I went to a website selling their chip. Plugged into their drop down menus 2003 911 supercharged 12 cylinder. It put a chip in my cart. Then went to the JDM website, no supercharger option, but it did put a chip in my cart for a 3 cylinder 996.
Question for anyone that wants to answer.
When you go to one of these performance tuning websites, do you notice all of the cars, models, years that they have software for?
So how do you think they are able to get all of those thousands of cars into their shop to optimize tuning for each model, make and year for between $200-600 and get you an extra 20-40 HP?
With all this being said, go with the software that has been specifically tuned for the M96 normally aspirated engine, which will cost you between 900 and 1500 dollars. The reason is that many are written to override the cel warnings that pop up in the 996, if you are running non-oem exhaust system or intakes. In particular 200 cel cats.
You will get a lot of feedback on this thread for various software companies. There are a lot of choices good and bad today. Check them all out. Maybe this thread can evolve into an honest to goodness actual testing thread.
Start with FVD Brombacher who built software specifically optimized for our 996 cars and only Porsche. I use Revo because back in the day, they built software specifically for the 996 that could be further optimized on the dyno.
Don't expect any more than 10 HP. What you will get is better throttle response, the ability to optimize running different intakes and exhaust, and adjustments to the power curve.
Hope this helps.
