Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

23 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

To all: I am looking for the part number for engine protection plate for 01 C2. Thank you in earnest.

POST 3Original post

Would this be needed on a 2003 C4S, or is it for earlier models primarily? Thanks

POST 4Original post

good point. not sure of the P/N now..got it from JimPDX.

POST 5Original post

More needed for the 99-01 models with the RoWM030 suspension but a great addition for ALL 911s. 99-present 996 107 981 00 Got mine for $80 from Sunset

POST 7Original post

I would say less than a pound. No real wieght to it. More protection than anything.

POST 9Original post

Less than 5 minutes. Remove 3 bolts and re-insert them with the plate in place.

POST 10Original post

do you have to take it off to drain the oil? Or is that hole in the center the oil plug

POST 12Original post

Are there any disadvantages that you know of by utilizing this plate? Such as not identifying oil leaks, which would be identified w/o it. TIA

POST 13Original post

If you are referring to RMS, then no. Not anywhere near it.

POST 15Original post

there is a small issue with the plate which is very minor. when changing your old you have about 1/2 inch less clearance because the plae extends about 1/2 below the lowest point of the pan. I set my car up on some wood boards when I change the oil to compensate. if the issue about hiding any oil leaks is of concern to you you can pop that puppy off in about 30 seconds. Its just three bolts holding it on.

POST 16Original post

Hey Lee... My bad...I gave you the wrong part number. The protection plate is 996-107-981-00. Sunset 12-10-04: $94.00.

POST 17Original post

Leave plate in place. Cut out for drain hole on plate. Jim

POST 18Original post

An engine plate, I don't have a problem with. I just don't think it's right to be attaching puppies to an engine.

POST 19Original post

must be for Porsche owner capitalist running dogs... Jim, are you in Tucson now?

POST 20Original post

No. I'm in Portland about 8 miles away from you. We have a place down there when we need to escape the rain.

POST 21Original post

They look so nice when new.. I am sure it's all beat-up now...

POST 23Original post

I suppose I should read all the posts first before I post up and repeat what has already been said, already been said, already been said...
