Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am planning on painting my rims. I am going to scruff up the silver and use that as my primer. Has anyone used Nason before? I am wondering if I will have compatibility issues. thanks

POST 2Original post

Base, clear or single stage? With a base clear, scuffing with a maroon pad and metallic silver paint will probably show scuff scratches. Single stage probably wont. Compatibility will be fine with the factory paint. Base coat over a fresh few day old clear will raise the clear.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Base clear. Ill get it 400 grit. Do you think I need primer? Thanks

Best to use 600 grit.

POST 5Original post

Unfortunately with silver base any imperfection or scratch will show. Its the way the metallic sits in the scratch and reflects the light A sealer smoothes the imperfections before the base without sanding. You will know if the scratches will be seen by the first base coat, if you dont approve then stop and seal.
