Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It needs a bit of TLC and a service but its running okay and I have fixed a few niggles myself, such as the handbrake sensor which was stopping the hood activation switch.
Leading evidence: 'Run okay and i have' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run okay and i have' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi I have brought a Silver and Blue 1998 Carerra Convertible a couple of weeks back. It needs a bit of TLC and a service but its running okay and I have fixed a few niggles myself, such as the handbrake sensor which was stopping the hood activation switch. It had a small hole in the hood roughly where the hood catch at the back is and I have patched this on the underside and sealed it with Aquasure which seems good and water tight and doesn't show to the eye to much while I wait for new hood money to build up. I have a sensor issue on the NS door window that doesn't drop when the handle is operated and then drops 3" when you close it fully on the switch the first time! but the garage are picking up the tab for that one, I guess this is a sensor as well. I haven't seen many 97 - 98's are there many out there still?
Anyway I will see how it goes, it appears to have had some mods to the suspension and the exhaust and some repairs to the motor you read some of the threads on here and you would think it was an Edzel but equally there appears to be a lot of high miler's so they cannot be all bad. They sure do look good and go well.

Currently, I have a double din stereo unit located in the top two slots (in the horse shoe). My AC unit is in the bottom slot of the remaining two. I want to know what is necessary to relocate the AC unit to the top slot below the horse shoe.
The only item you'd need is the correct trim piece - you can relocate the AC controls easily with no other parts required. A couple of people have noted that you may need to temporarily remove the batwing (the plastic piece below the lower console) in order to get the HVAC controls in place.
Welcome and congratulations on the purchase, S.R! If you need any other help with future fixes/repairs be sure to check out our tech articles
